Ffs! Football is damned to to deliver constant irritation to me. The ruddy local match was called off but they didn't bother telling anyone. Waterlogged pitch apparently. Christ on a stick the pitch was massively better than pitches I played on as a yoof. Ruddy snowflakes! lol
Waterlogged is the refs call. At that level it's less the safety of the players and more likely the ref either forgot his boots, couldn't be arsed getting soaked or was just plain hungover.

We had one at Cables a couple of years back. Near 300 paying punters through the gate, the opposition had done a 3 hour coach ride from the other side of Yorkshire and the ref went and called it off 10 minutes before kickoff.

The clown had arrived and obviously forgot his boots as he did the "inspection" of the very wet but very playable pitch in full kit but wearing trainers. Obviously went on his arse straightaway, took one look at the home crowd laughing at him and ran back in to call it off.

Been most of the day to digest.

2nd half is the best we've played since the start of the season IMO. Shades of how we started.

And that Gylfi miss is haunting.
At last a rational post. We are not as bad as people are suggesting. WE've been missing key players and Gomes was not right since his injury. Today he was more like the pre injury Gomes. Carlo has to mix and match a bit because key players are still missing, and he;s always been a careful manager who takes time to introduce young players. The time will come for Gordon and the left back

I think he did ok in the circumstances, came at him quickly and the keeper did well. Never watched Pope much but he looks a better keeper than Pickford

Not for me. Just confirms how wasteful we are and have been for seasons, especially in midfield. Richy did the same against Leeds.

The only one scoring regularly is Dom.

But anyone with a reach is better than Pickford at the moment

So many players out of form, but it’s alarming the amount of goals we are conceding. I’d try a 4-2-3-1 system
Olsen
Holgate Keane Mina Niels
Doucoure Allan
Iwobi James Richarlison
DCL
Doucoure is more a box to box player, but I’d have him sitting as a holding player at present as our defence badly needs some support.

Just seen the game now and without listening to the post match analysis and reading any posts on here, this is how I saw it...
Disappointing to not win but better performance than the last game.

Allan had his worst game for us and Doucs was actually poor in my opinion.

Pickford and Iwobi actually played well as controversial that statement might be to some who are blinkered against them.

Gomes played well for the first time in a long time.

It is still evident that we are 3-4 very good players away from being a good side lol!!!

Its not a good result today but in isolation, its not terrible. Last week was the real shocker. Losing at home to teams like Leeds is not acceptable and the players let everyone down with their refusal to match Leeds effort levels.

I fully expected us to comfortably take all the points today. As it turned out, either team could've won had it not been for Pickford and Pope making a few decent saves. Thought Gylfi Sigurdsson was going to snatch it for us at the death, but instead... he decided to cultivate the growing hate that a lot of our fans have for him.
Oddly enough, Carlo Ancelotti got lucky with the injury to Delph leading to the forced substitution. That occurrence meant we had to change things around, resulting in us being more positive and open in our approach to the game. Will be interesting to see what system we play in our next few matches.

Was going to give Alex Iwobi MotM but decided to go for Ben Godfrey instead. I think the guy has been used right across the back since joining us; it really is good to have such a versatile player in our squad.
