doubt it'll be 3 years tbh, will be longer imo.

Maybe it is for 3 years, with the option to extend it a further year? We seem to do that for some reason rather than just handing out 4/5 year contracts.

Mirallas had that contract (not sure about the new one he signed) where we thought he was coming to the end of his contract, only to hear that the club had the option to extend by a further year.

Oviedo is the latest, seemingly out of contract in the summer, but the Echo revealed during the week that we also have the further 1 year extension option.

Very happy with this if it comes off. Coleman, as much as I love him, hasn't hit form since 13-14 season. If anything, this signing will hopefully give him the kick to push on and gain some momentum. If not, we've got a player who could be a first team starter within a couple of years.

Still, a keeper would be useful though!

If it is a 3 year contract then it might be that the player doesn't want a longer contract in case he ends up wasting away in the reserves.

If he can cross, then he'll give some serious competition to Coleman. Might be good to get some pressure on Coleman too, knowing his place is guranteed can only naturally bring complacency.
