No and we probably never will be again.

We can be a sleeping giant but any time we look to be getting good the "big" clubs will just come in and hoover up all our best players to be squad men for them.

It's set up to be this way. Forest, Villa and even Bournemouth will get plundered next for daring to stick their head above the parapet.

Overall yes but the 2 top trophies to win are the League and European Cup/CL.

Chelsea have 6+2 = 8
We have 9+0 = 9

The other Cups are great to win but anyone can win one of them within reason. That's why clubs like Swansea and Wigan have won domestic cups in recent times.

No one can fluke a League Title over a season and it'd be extremely difficult to go all the way in the European Cup/CL without having an extremely strong team.

Obviously Chelsea's overall success has been better but not for the top trophies.
No sane fan would swap Chelsea's haul for ours.

Personally, the “Big Club” is in the past, there’s so much distance to when we were Big & now that it’s time the next generation wrote their own script. I’d rather watch a new chapter being written than constantly watching clips from the past, as the club seems to put out with regularity.

No disrespect to those days, but I enjoyed them then, and don’t want to keep reliving it. I’m looking forward to watching a successful 26, 27, 28 team dominate! Let others judge us as a Big club by what we do now & in the near future.

There must be an individual a few decades ago who first came up with this 'big club' notion. How many clubs have been regarded as 'big' in that time but aren't now? And which clubs have never been big? He has a lot to answer for. It's a matter of opinion, depends on your age, and is usually biased, anyway.

Not for me, it’s been allowed to deteriorate for too long. Hopefully it will be again at some point.

When I read things like this from Evertonians in the media
