Can Ireland beat France?

I honestly don't mate. But then I am not emotionally involved.

Ireland weren't good enough, when you have players like Keith Andrews and that winger from Sunderland playing you have problems.

Probably would have been battered in South Africa.

There is always next time.

Anyway, True Blood time. Night.

So effectively crossing the ball, consciously too, with your hand to your team mate to score the goal that effectively put Ireland out is not cheating?

Thankfully, I can use too much sun as an excuse but there's no palm trees on the Wirral bra.

what would the opinions be if it had been England there in Irelands place, and the same thing had happened ?

I have to say they would be the same sympathy (except for ghost i would rub it in to him) and berting fifa for not having goal line technology.

If Ireland had of won by that tonight yes i would be happy we were in the world cup but disgusted that our captain stooped that low. Like i was when we got a peno for no reason against cypres earlier in qualifing. *Disclaimer not through cheeting just a dumb ass ref*

Supporting Ireland is like supporting EFC just when you think they are going to do something special they let you down or in this case cheated out of it.

I really like the Irish spirit.

Whenever they came to Portugal, it was always a big happy party.

I have great respect for Trapp. He has worked for the rivals here but was always very respectful to every club and he always looked sharp. A very, very clever man.

Henry... a [Poor language removed] cheater who people keep tapping in the back "well done!". He dived in the WC to go through to the final and, from what i read, he cheated again today.

King Henry my ass!!!

So he has form ?

I really hate when some players allow themselves to come up publicly to say they are not cheats when the facts show that they are exactly the opposite of what they are saying.

Henry claims he told the ref the ball hit his arm and the ref told him he couldn't do anything.

As for saying the Irish didn't deserve to win, or that they lost, because they didn't take their chances, thats BS, just Ghost being a bad troll. At worst they should have had the chance at penalties. Maybe they would have lost anyway, but then it would have been their own fault.

Anyway, commiseration to you guys, would have liked to see them go through, not just because it would have meant France weren't there, but World Cups are better with the Irish in them.

On reflection, and having seen it again - it did look like Henry used his hand to his advantage for the 2 touch - the first it just hit him.

I'm an Englishman who does cheer on all the home nations (shock!) and I'm gutted for Ireland because they were the better team. At the end of the day though, Henry is not the first player to take advantage of a handball and 99% of players would play on after using their hand to control a ball. If the whistle doesn't go, why should he stop? If it had happened at the other end would, say Robbie Keane, have stopped play and told the ref he handled it? Or would Keane have centred for Doyle to score and send Ireland to South Africa?
