BBC Sport - Football - Henry admits replay would be fair

Wenger makes some very good points in that interview.

Henry's former manager Arsene Wenger echoed the frontman's thoughts, adding that the incident furthered the case for video technology to be used in future.

"Football accepts that a billion people see it, one guy doesn't see it, and yet it is the one who prevails. It cannot work," said the Gunners boss.

"At the game, I saw the referee giving a goal knowing that something was wrong and that is really sad.

"In the end, he gave a goal already knowing that it wasn't a goal. We cannot accept that in our sport and you have to do something about it. The referee didn't see it, I can understand that, the linesman didn't see it, but they couldn't get any help.

How long can this go on? Something needs to be done, it honestly cant be that difficult, its a multi-billion sport, how much longer can it live in the dark ages.

Neiler have you seen the interview of Roy Keane?

I have mate, he makes some good points but you cant take him seriously he has an axe to grind (justifiably in many respects)| with the FAI.

A superb player and feel privilaged to heave seen him so many times - but he is totally chicken oriental - so i pay no heed to anything he says especially if it concerns the FAI there are old wounds there.

There wont be a replay IMO - it would set a dangerous precident and make boundries unclear - doesnt change the fact that we and other smaller nations in the eyes of the sponsors - who seem to be running the show, got absolutley shafted.

We deserve to be in the WC - we finsihed unbeaten in a group containing the world champions and where beaten by cheating by the other finalists after giving them a lesson on their own turf, after getting shafted in the qualifying draw, and a late seeding decison for the play offs with a game to go.

The world cup is tainted for me now - clearly there is an inequality in qualifying and a bias toward the bigger populated nations or should i say markets.

Poor old Keano has lost the plot ?

Just watched him on ssn while he makes some good points he always lets himself down by being psychotic.

Roy Keane has hit the nail full on the head. Tells it as it is and doesn't skirt around this issue. I try and do that, but nobody listens to me, is anyone going to argue with Roy Keane.

Well ******* said Roy.

just cos keane isn't the captain of ushoited any more, doesn't make me stop hating him. over-rated thug who surfed the wave of fergie spit to get away with allsorts, he must've been a right 'teachers pet' at o.t. cos s.a.f. wouldn't put up with his weird cranky ways.
he's sensing revenge on the f.a.i. and it seems certain people, he see's that they are down and he's gonna wipe his boots on them, he'll be shoehorning mick mccarthy into it soon.

Like i said a lot of good points by Keano - but its hard to take him seriously when it comes to the FAI - not that i dont agree with him. Looks under real pressure there.

Had to laugh though he blames the defence, probably the most culpable was Paul Mcshane who he signed for Sunderland paying over the odds.
