Can we finish in the top 4?

We're guna win the league

While I shared your optimism on Monday night, I'm trying not to get carried away mate.

As for top four, yes I think we can but it's FAR too early to say if we will actually achieve that. I'd be happy with Europe and another decent crack at a cup. Hey, even the league cup opens up Europe.

Man City, Manu and Chelsea will make up the top 3. Arsenal are weaker than previous years but people have been saying that every year and they always make the top 4. Not being in Europe is our advantage over all sides above us last year so our lack of depth won't be as significant. I think it's possible but we need to be very consistent and Arsenal to have a shocker.

To be fair to Savage he isn't afraid of having an opinion. I don't see us finishing top 4 as we don't have the squad depth to cover the injuries we will get. Savage tipped Villa to go down, not many others have done that but they look weak at the back with mostly kids.

Hated Savage as a player but he is a better pundit than most at BBC, not much competition though.

Our bench is going to be stronger than its been for a long time. I'm sure that Moyes is aware that we will need a right back next season, but despite the doubters I think that we are covered with Neville, Hibbert and maybe Coleman this season. Neville and Hibbert are veterans, but both can still defend well and have the experience to stand them in good stead against speedier wingers. You can never tell, but we look like we might have plenty of goals in us this season. AVB at Spurs is an unknown quantity, and they have unloaded some decent back up players. If Modric goes they could have problems, and we could easily have a season at least equal to theirs. At least one team will break out from the pack chasing the usual suspects, at there is every chance it will be Everton. Fascinating season ahead, again !

There is always an outside chance that we will reach 4:th, we have done it before with a weaker team than our current squad and against better squads on other teams. If Moyes throw the christmas party for the players now, then we have an even bigger chance of succeeding.
I'd give us about a 1-in-20 chance to reach 4:th spot as the squads currenly look.
Realistically I think we will battle for 6-7 spot.

We live in hope

And Newcastle not taking it - to me they are more likely than Arsenal or Spurs. If you look at like this then why not? if we're lucky on injuries, play the smaller teams with the same guts we play the bigg ones and RB and KM make the difference they are capable of. Long shot though

Just like the last time we reached 4th, we'd need immense luck in terms of injuries and get absolutely none. We simply don't have the squad otherwise. Our first XI is good enough for top 6 though.

Our first XI is good enough for top 4 if they continue to play at the lvl they did against ManU

They are, but lets face it we aren't going to play like that every game. It just isn't possible. Utd/City etc get by most of the time by turning up for 15 minutes per match, smashing 2 or 3 in and cruising the rest of the time.

If Tottenham can't, then we won't. But you never know, if we play well until Christmas and go all Super Sayian post January, then it is feasable.

Newcastle did a fluke last year and won't be as good this year. Arsenal and Tottenham are league better than them (even though they did beat one of them last weekend, its just the first game)

At least, we will be above Newcastle. I am sure.

we'd have to have an incredible season to finish top 4, obviously. chelsea will do much better than last season imo, and liverpool will improve too. i wouldn't expect newcastle and spurs to do as well as last season but will still be thereabouts.

I'd say top 6 would be a really good season.
