Then Utd come in for Mourinho in a years time, do we consider how de-stabilising that may be to us to lose him after just one season? If they had failed to choose him twice, when he was available, I would be amazed if he would ever entertain going there after that. He ruled out ever managing the RS after they picked Benitez ahead of him on 2004, I seem to recall - though of course he may have ruled them out because he hates them.

The old men at Old Trafford have found themselves in a pickle, since their long term plan was grooming Giggs for the role.
