Captain, next season

Jags is still the best candidate to be the captain of our great club and defiantly deserves to remain captain.

Barry is a fantastic leader also but with both him and Jags aging we do have to begin planning for the future and personally I'd love is to give Barkely the role as vice captain and see how he goes.

To be honest, I'm fine with Jags

Always liked him, even before he was captain

We can all guess away but Ron if he's worth his salt will be doing his homework as we speak,he may stick with Jags, he may want to give Stones or someone else from within the responsibility, he may say, you know what I might just bring in someone fresh from outside, which to be honest I would prefer, as much as I like Jags as a player I just think we can do better for a skipper.

Lets put our trust in Ron.

It would really send a message to the squad if Jags is relieved of the armband next season. I think he will remain captain, but will be interesting to see who we bring in so my opinion could change then. Nobody at the club really stands out to me besides the obvious picks of Jags, Barry, maybe Baines as being captain worthy.

...we've got a captain in Phil Jagielka, top pro, greatly respected throughout the game and a fine ambassador for the club. He's all we want.

Jags recommended Coleman for next captain. I'd give it to Barkley if I thought it would make him more vocal etc but I'm not sure it would.

I would make Ross captain, give the lad a huge confidence boost and show him just how vital to the club's future plans he is. Make him the symbol of the club like the RS did with Gerrard.

Never been a fan of Jagielka as a captain and Barry doesn't offer much either but either would be alright a deputy maybe. Just neither gets involved in on the pitch scuffles or ever get in the ref's ear and those are things we need our players to start doing, especially in big games.
