The football was dire, we didn’t win a pot and Moyes entire personality depressed me and summed us up as a club. “Plucky little Everton, they’ll make it hard for you at Goodison!” whilst Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea hoovered up trophies playing attacking football.

It was dire.

Bit harsh saying the football was dire. When we had the midget gems doing bits we played some sex.

Let's make no mistake here - he hasn't walked into such a mess since 1996 & we have no idea how he will adapt to a dis-functional squad, leadership with massive recruitment problems & a DOF who hasn't exactly set the world.

In reality, we have no idea how he will get on as it is 23 years since she has taken this kind of challange, but it is this challange for whoever takes it on & we might as well get the best - this we have done. Bravo
Not really a mess, win 4/5 games and your top 6

Richarlison and digne all the rest don't get anywhere near his team's.

The issue is he is going to get loads of money to spend on transfers to build a team, something he hasn't done for 2 decades, he takes over teams with good squads

We can't afford to get it wrong again, if he spends 250-300m in 2 or 3 transfer windows and the team doesn't gel, we will be in real trouble and can't see moshiri staying if that happens either.

Amazing how the only two responses to my post were you and @Keiran both slagging our players off.

Our squad is good, with good players, last season we stuffed Utd and Arsenal at home, bear Chelsea and drew with Liverpool, we finished 8th with no away wins pritty much. We have 2 players capable of getting 16 goals and even DCL seems to have stepped up. Buy a Defender and Mid in Jan and we fly up the table.
Richarlison and who?

Quite clearly your not an Everton fan and that’s fine but stop the trolling mate

He suggested he hadn’t heard anything but good about Ancelotti from his players but it’s common knowledge that the Bayern players weren’t happy with him.

That’s not being negative or trolling, it’s preventing the spreading of misinformation, whether positive or negative.

Agreed. Wouldn't say we're as many as 7/8 signings off challenging Europe tho.

I recon we need about 3/4 top signings, strategically picked rather than the scattergun approach of the last few years

When Moshiri came we needed a statement signing to send the message that we meant business. We didn't do it, so instead we got took to the cleaners for crap like Bolasie and Williams.

Ancelotti is that statement signing we need. It resets the state of play and presents a massive opportunity. It'll take £200m+ to get us competing but it opens up the market to spend that money wisely now instead of panic buying.

Usmanov will handle it...

I don’t think it’s negativity mate. I think it’s mostly surprise, but also questions. Even the most ardent blue would admit in all the excitement it’s a bit bizarre! Take a look at the comments at the start of this very thread.

Ancelotti taking over as our manager is totally different to taking over at Arsenal or United would make sense as it suits his experience of taking over established clubs with European Football and top international footballers across the park.

He won’t have that here, hence the questions and intrigue from all corners. It’s something even he has never done before.

Arsenal and Man Utds squad is NOT that much different to ours.

Ancelotti is a manager who attracts top players because of his name. If Everton get him, the type pf player Everton can atttact will be better than someone like Silva ever could.

This squad does not need a massive overhaul.

People are also contradicting themselves. They say Ancelotti is good at managing massively expensive squads. Then what is Everton right now?

That will be the thing to look forward to, whether he can convince top players to come here. There are only so many of these players to go around and City have most of them.
