Carlo Ancelotti

You have failed to make a compelling case for Manuel Pellegrini being in any way comparable to Carlo Ancelotti by the way.
During his time at Parma, Scala won the Coppa Italia in 1992, the Cup Winners' Cup and the European Super Cup in 1993, and the UEFA Cup in 1995. He also managed runners-up medals in the Coppa Italia in 1995, in the Cup Winners' Cup in 1994, and twice in the Supercoppa Italiana in 1992 and 1995, while his best result in the league was a third-place finish during the 1994–95 Serie A season. He left Parma in June 1996.

Mate, people on here would be slitting their wrists if we bought Messi because "he has no resale value" or "couldn't do it on a cold rainy night in Stoke"

The media elements pushing this whole Ancelotti isnt right for Everton rubbish is the managerial equivalent of "can Messi do it on a rainy night in Stoke."

It is boring, lazy and does a disservice to one of the greatest managers the game has ever seen.

Of course it may not work out, that happens in football, but right now it can only be seen as a huge positive.

If you look at @Keiran suggesting Pelligrini is a world class manager comparable to Ancelotti.

In europe hes won 1 premier league...nothing else of note.

Its one thing to get the top jobs but its another to win EVERYTHING ;)

In terms of the squad...we have the money to build it up otherwise he wouldnt be coming.

He will want to leave a legacy behind and I think this is a project he feels will show the world how good a manager he is.

Arsenal have decided on Arteta instead of John Ebbrell...weve gone for one of the best managers of all time.

He attracts players...if we have better players then even if he fails top managers will have better players to work with.

But why even think of that...this is a magical time.

I totally agree with you. We have a superstar manager with one (THE?) of best CVs in the World. I was merely picking up on your statement that Carlo IS a World Class Manager. He was a World Class Manager when he was working with World Class players, whether he still is only time will tell. But as you say, it’s certainly a magical, exciting and great time to be a Blue.

'The fact that he hasnt won much is because he has managed at X, Y, Z / He is a superstar manager because he's managed Real Madrid and City'

Pick one and stick with it you cant have both
Pelligrini was one of the top managers in Europe. You don’t get to manager Real a Madrid unless you are very good.

The counter argument is Zidane, but how many Champions Leagues has he won?

It’s not a contradiction to say that only superstar managers manage multiple top clubs and win Premier League titles.

Both Ancelotti and Pellegrini are superstar managers, in my book anyway. If you disagree, fine, but the suggestion is hardly laughable unless you’re a hormonal teenage girl desperate for attention - which we seem to have a few of on here......

It’s perfectly reasonable, by my reckoning, to say that Pellegrini managing the likes of Villareal, Malaga and West Ham - is going to win far less than Ancelotti managing the clubs he has - because those clubs have vastly different expectations.
