Buffon was 18 years old.

Crespo was 21 years old.

Cannavaro was 23 years old.

None of these players were established stars, he developed all of them into world class players. He also signed Thuram and Chiesa who went on to become key players and some of the best in Europe.

Money is obviously going to be a huge motivating factor for him, along with the fact he wants to manage in England again

He may also feel that with the right financial backing that he could really kick us on
 
It is legit proper weird how much both journalists and fans of other clubs are downplaying this. 'It'll all end in tears', 'joke club' etc. Why are people so arsed about us one minute and then, supposedly, 'don't care' the next? It's especially evident in people with affiliations to certain other clubs in particular..

Stinks to high heaven.

Choices. Luck. A multitude of reasons.

Benitez is a superstar manager but has spent the last few years of his career managing Newcastle and in China. Go figure.

Different managers have different motivations. Ancelotti might have a better agent. Who knows?

Clubs choose managers for all sorts of reasons, look at Arsenal choosing Arteta over Ancelotti now, it doesn’t mean Arteta is the better manager - but Arsenal clearly feel he’s the better fit.

Arsenal are a top club with some of the best Football people around and they have made their decision, they have their reasons for that.

I think he did pretty well with the funding he had while he was here. The way it ended was not good.

King, Bascombe, and Joyce are all Kopites.

Hunter is the only Blue of the top national writers.

Majority of the Echo lads that cover us are Blues but its the Echo.

Journalists and fans dont like things being shaken up like this.

We are Everton, not some two bit provincial club. Sod them.
