What does Koeman have in common with Ancelotti as a manager? Loads of people were underwhelmed with the Koeman appointment.

It really wasn't, wasn't comparable at all.

I'd say there's about 95% of Evertonians absolutely made up with this appointment and I think it's safe to say there wasn't that when Koeman signed up.

Well yeah not every signing has been great, but Ake was a genius shout on his part

People on this forum were going mental that he paid so much for him but they'll end up selling him for anywhere between double and triple what they paid for him when he finally goes

I'd happily pay 50ish million for him without batting an eyelid

It was an incredible bit of business on his part

The fact that he was highly rated at Chelsea , had done well on loan and Chelsea didn’t want to sell him may have given Howe some clues as to how good he was.
He wasn’t playing for Tranmere's under 18 or anything like that

No it was not and as an "Evertonian" you would know that, but you're not, so you wouldn't.

I am worried about appointing Ancellotti… What if it doesn't work out well at all? Masses of money spent. What if we end up sacking him in 12 months? If he spends a fortune in the summer is any of the money recoverable, if we don't win anything? We need HUGE new sponsorship deals. Could we go bust?

It's all what if's... There's no guarantee of anything I guess.

Insert Koeman or Silva instead of Ancellotti.

It really is simple. Koeman's had a reputation for poor man management going back to his Valencia days. There were plenty on here, including me, who warned about it at the time we were appointing him. Meanwhile Ancelotti has had a reputation for brilliant man management for decades.
