Ask yourself why 15 players, most internationals had a bad day then is it

a: they are all bad players

b: they did not know what they were meant to be doing.
Just think about what you just said

professional footballers of which 9 of them are full internationals couldn’t understand tactics given to them by the only manager to beat Klopp this year, won 7 league titles and 3 champions league..
He’s obviously given them tactics that where to complex for them

He now knows what he must do.
This ball..This go in white Net. Stop them putting it in white net. Use foot, no not ur hand your foot, yes that to give ball to each other.

If certain players don't like it or being called U/S twits then bog off, resign and give up your unearned big pay packet.

Will never happen. If you were in the same position, would you? We have a massive problem, one that has been exacerbated by having to change managers so often, meaning constant mini-rebuilds. The DoF was intended to stop mini-rebuilds and I would say the majority of purchases by Brands are not bad players, they are just playing badly.

The club needs some stability in manager position, shed whatever dross it can, when it can and support the manager to bring in better players when they are available. What is does not need is supporters showing disapproval to the team/club, as much as they deserve it. As said on many occasions, they need us more than ever to give our support, certainly Ancelotti does.

As discussed it's a combination of factors.

But having the 2 players who are supposed to pivot your team playing it constantly back to the defense (one of whom is a young lad getting booed every time he gets the ball) against a team hunting in packs to win the ball back high up the field is rather inviting pressure on yourselves.

Then making zero attempt to win it back in the middle of the park when they have it.

Now I can't believe Ancelotti is completely oblivious to how Liverpool play. So it's either a plan that didn't work, a plan that was badly executed or a combination of the two. But I can't see what he would hope to achieve by giving the above instruction.
There are reports of some players blaming the tactics...And here we have a footballing version of The Fermi Paradox
The Everton / Ancelotti Paradox.

Q; If he's as good as his record shows why didn't he change it?

Answer A; This is how my teams play.
Rebuttal; All we have is a very expensive Martinez / Silva.

Answer3 B; He tried to, but the players are so out of form they just couldn't get out of their rut and/or they're not arsed
Rebuttal; Try to find an 11 and system they can play that wins games.

Answer C; Go back to an 11 and a system that did work - the chelsea team, after all, 9 who lost on sunday played Vs Chelsea
Rebuttal; This is not how my teams play.

Not a lot I know, but its all I got atm.
I'm open to any more answers for the short term to the end of the season
Whatya got?
Edit; launching half a dozen of the usual suspects into the sun to encourage the others may be against the law

b: they did not know what they were meant to be doing.

But it's nowhere near as simple as those two options.

1. it's anfield. whether we like it or not, they have a mythical hold over the place and have had since 1999.
2. we played our first 11 who have played the majority of minutes during the festive period. we looked absolutely legless
3. we played ok in the first half. should have been 3 up.

I agree that the tactics of 442 didn't suit us because they played 3 in the middle of the pitch that let them dominate the ball in the second half. But...and it's a big BUT, Carlo has clearly said repeatedly, "we haven't had any training sessions". He's come in on boxing day and admitted he won't and can't change anything until the lead up to the Brighton game.

The continuation of the previous tactics has yielded points v Burnley and v Newcastle. It didn't work vs Liverpool. Fine. But to them say "the players didn't know what they were doing" is bonkers. They were to do exactly what they'd done since Duncan took over. Only they didn't on Sunday which is par for the course with this squad.

The main issue from the game was the lack of fight. Even given all of the above, you'd expect that team to go out and bully those young lads. Did we even foul them?! That's the bit that is anti-Everton and we rightly should be into the players because of it.

Let's be clear for the average supporter it would take a decade to receive what each one of those players earn in a year.

So for me no excuses can be tolerated.

This average supporter has worked the past two evenings with a chest and throat infection for minimum wage and still managed to put more effort in on those 4 hour shifts than Sig and Schneiderlin put together (won’t be tonight though as it’s beaten me into calling in sick)

It honestly amazes me how much people are letting the squad get away with over Sunday

Point 2 is worth repeating because it's probably the most relevant of all.

With hindsight this fixture was a trap that couldn't be avoided. The Cup was the last hope for successful season. It came about at a point when both sides first teams were knackered. Whilst Klopp is chasing league and CL success however and can walk on water as far as their fans are concerned, anything other than selecting a full strength EFC side would've brought a negative response for the new manager before he's even had a chance to get his nameplate on the door.

Their youngsters played well, their fringe players are quality, but the fresh legs were maybe the biggest factor in the game as the decline in EFC's second half performance suggests.

The lack of bite in midfield was telling. Whether there's anyone in the squad or reserves who can provide it is another matter.

I hope some of the daft cowards in the squad have piped up, probably think they are untouchable given the manager turn around, not anymore though reckon we will finally get to see some widespread changes to the scum that put on our shirt

For far to long they have gotten away with it. Hope he Drops them all, all for booing them myself but they couldn't care less anyway

Just said this in the other thread but you’d like to think if this true, those particular players will be dropped on Saturday.

Then we will know exactly who the rats are
I dpubt we have the numbers. If Iwobi is fit then perhaps gylf benched

Probably the same ones who laughed at Moshiri when he came in to talk to them after sacking Silva.

Guess we will find out on Saturday if any of the alleged rebels are frozen out. If these reports are true then they shouldn’t play for us again until they apologise and agree to play as they have been told,or they are sold/loaned out.Its about time we shed the nice club image if we want to be winners again.

I read an interview with Ancelotti saying he likes to develop a system that works with the players he has, and not limit himself to one style. My take on that is that it's not an immediate fix. He has to learn enough about the players to see what they are capable of, and see what he can mould the side in to.

One noticeable difference from the Duncan games,.is playing out from the back. Duncan all but abandoned that from the game and instead missed out the midfield. I suspect cos Duncan knew where the issue was, but it worked and we looked a better side for it. Ancelotti has now seen that issue first hand, and if he wants to play out from the back, then he's either going to have to work with the midfield, or bring in new ones. I'd be disappointed to see a side with morgan and gylfi starting again. Neither should be anywhere near the side.
