If you're saying that once the players are out on the pitch, the manager can have no impact on the game or the system, I just don't know what to say.

If you lose a goal at 94 minutes and, with only a couple of minutes left, you concede another, then poor instruction or possibly lack of instruction MUST have played some part.

I'm not saying it's his fault. But it's baffling to suggest he's not somewhat responsible too.

The 1st goal, fair enough, it's a bit of a freak. It's a deflection and CB's scoring bicycle kicks is a bit mad. But once you're at 2-1, slow the play down, don't concede set pieces, waste time, pack the midfield and play safe.

It's clutching at straws, desperately, to say Carlo couldn't have done things differently. Totally immune to criticism.

He’s not immune to criticism obviously. I think his subs were poor.

But two goals within the final minute and it’s his fault? Come on.

I thought we were playing some good stuff, then full back for striker, and we started to sit back. We still have a soft centre, so our best form of defence is to try and attack. Carlo will figure us out in time, at least we have shown some promise, but also too little backbone.

I didn't say it was his fault.

I also don't think his subs were poor. What subs would you have made, out of interest?

The subs he made weren't in any way effective but i'm more interested in why, at 2-1, the system didn't change and the instructions either didn't come, weren't clear or, even more worryingly, simply weren't followed. In any case, he'd be at the very least, partially to blame.

It was downhill once Coleman came on. It should have been gordon. With davies the shape completely went and he's mediocre. Then came the final nail in the coffin niasse. The players still should have just retained possession though with sideways passes they excel doing that normally.

We can talk about tactics all we want but what we've needed for years is a top sports psychologist to deal with the mental side that is clearly such a problem. They fall apart so easily and this could continue for a few weeks after that. He needs to make sure it doesn't

That’s a terrible stance to take on that. Jesus, Carlo, just say nothing instead of saying crap like that.

Probably knows there is no point slating them. Nothing works for this group of players. Praise them, they let you down. Slag them off, they’ll let you down. No backbone between them.

For me has shown his man management perfectly in his summing up where we are all admittedly fairly losing our heads over the result he has focused on the performance hasn't pointed fingers and has praised the team for it's good football. Although he will know who has let the team down but won't blurt it out as you shouldn't in his position. Focussed on the positives of our best performance this season for me for 80 minutes until those divs Davies and niasse were brought on.

Probably needed to drop the 4-4-2 and either go 5 at the back or 5 in midfield after 80 minutes.
Just tighten up and see the game out. Newcastle could only bring big defenders on so where also going to go long or look for set pieces.
Probably should have brought Keane on if he was fit to tighten us up in the air.
