2019/20 Carlo Ancelotti

I totally disagree with the view that;

Hes finished
Hes going to quit
Feel sorry for him
Etc etc

Taking off any Everton blinkers, this is a dream job.

The bloke is no spring chicken and has won the lot at a variety of clubs. Money is of little consequence to him at this point.

He wants a project, perhaps his biggest project to build a successful squad of players.

You also cant blame the players. You cant change their mentality or ability.

This is a legacy for Ancelotti, something he can be remembered for as his greatest achievement if he can get us a successful side.

Ive said for 12 months weve got half a squad. Weve now seen that we have even less than that.

Holgate
Branthwaite
Digne
Gordon
Richarlison
DCL
Kean

All of these players are consistently fit, hungry and have the mentality to improve and win.

The 'magnificent seven(th)' DVD part 2.

In @MarcelsGoat thread now baines has gone, i believe there are 32 players in the squad (including players like Dowell/Gordon/Baningime etc).

The key now is Brands. Over the next 2 months he has to get 16 players out of the door.

This is imperative. We must have 16 players left of this dross.

We then must sign 7 new players with Brands and Ancelotti in agreement.

At that point the 7 players on the list above we have to hope becomes 14 players...

With 14 / 23 we are only 9 players off a full squad.

That means that each summer going forward we only need to shift 3/4 and sign or promote the same.

The time now is for Ancelotti to work with Brands on targets and for Brands to sell and sign.

Then Ancelotti has something to build from.

When was Carlo one of the greatest managers in the world though. When he left Napoli who were in 8th place in Italy. He was coveted by Arsenal who have just finished 8th and ourselves who finished 12th. Carlo was a great manager.

I suppose when one of the worlds most decorated coaches winning titles across Europe’s top leagues, bettered now only by Guardiola and Mourinho. Don’t worry though I’m sure Jurgen will get there someday, him and his doped up gang of darlings in red so no need for you to worry about it. Honestly, just won the league (and the double counting last years Champions League, seeing as that’s apparently counting now too) and you’re on an Everton forum spouting nonsense for what? To get a rise out of people.

Carlo Ancelotti is one of the finest football managers the world has seen, just because he’s at Everton now it doesn’t change that. That is a universal truth, like how water is wet and kopites are gob... well you know the rest, you’d have heard it enough already.

When Ancelotti left Napoli they were in 7th place (8 points out of CL). He was 2nd the year before. Missed The CL round 16, that year, only failed to make the round of 16 because of a tiebreaker, and Napoli was still a Champions League contender when he was sacked. He still holds a 58% winning average, which is considered very high for someone who has been manager as long as he has. To compare, Jürgen Klopp, with only managing three teams has a winning percentage of 52.
This is his most recent history. I’m not sure why you hold that opinion.

...I like him but he’s accountable and has to improve us. Whilst his CV is impressive, he’s on a huge salary and has to earn it.
Can't disagree with that Eggs.

What strikes me about Carlo though is his level of professionalism.

I genuinely don't think that he would stay here , even on his enormous salary if he didn't still have the hunger , desire and expectation that he can turn this around.

Even more worryingly , if he cant improve us then we will be stuck in a cycle of survival mediocrity with the likes of Moyes and Dyche.

Behave soft lad. There is a difference between supporting the manager and declaring him world-class. Carlo is a good manager. Slaughtering our entire playing squad to protect the manager is hugely self-destructive.

The irony is that your answer to not changing the manager so often is to change the whole squad. The reason we are in this situation is our propensity to look for short term solutions.

Carlo is not the best manager in the world and this is not the worst squad in the world. What we need is to get the best out of both.

Shush now

Judge him after 2 full seasons. That's the minimum amount if time it will take to get a good side on park.

Actually don't even bother judging. Get behind him and make his job easier. This club is in a mess and we can't attract a better manager.
I’m really worried, that if Carlo can’t sort this mess out with his CV, then who can we attract that can?

So you are taking these last few weeks and extrapolating across the entirety of next season?

We will make a couple of signings, get back some injured players and have a better season.
Injured players? Holgate aside, who are these injured players you're expecting to make a real difference?
