I suspect he's just here for his pension nest egg.

In the grand scheme of things I see his point: nothing to prove, on his way into retirement, and then some chancer picks up the phone looking to make his next big name leap into the dark signing and willing to hand over £12M for a couple of years and employ his son.

Obviously, the galoot wasn't the way forward, but we really should have been looking to bring in a man with a bright future and hungry to start winning.

In all honesty I don’t see how or what he wants to do. I know he hasn’t got the players at his disposal but he doesn’t seem to be any clear signs of know how he wants us to play. Surely someone of his experience should be trying to implement a vision and style of play. Apart from 2 up top and pass out from the back(that leads to unforced errors).

I'd never doubt Ancelotti's talent. I do doubt his resolve to roll up his sleeves and sift through this lot for another two seasons.

Why would he get millions? He'd be in breach of contract and we'd be able to claim compensation from whoever he went to work for

Without trying to imply you're wrong, perhaps he's playing a certain way at the moment based on what he's unfortunately got at his disposal? Damage limitation?

Arguably, it wouldn't be unfair to suggest we may be seeing more in terms of a philosophy, however maybe we will see more over the next few weeks.

A change in the midfield could be the catalyst.

Should've gone all out for Arteta. Already transformed Arsenal defensively and won a cup. Competing for the top 4 next season. While we sit in mid table, with Sigurdsson pulling the strings and everyone creaming themselves cos we have a world class manager.

If he leaves ,( which I don’t believe for a minute he will) ,then he clearly wasn’t the right manager for Everton Fooball Club, and I would therefore shed no tears.
However are we seriously discussing this situation arising solely based on a report which appeared in a publication which genuinely has less veracity than a copy of the Viz.?

Could well be right and I hope it is. I hope he’s realised the players are not good enough for the way he wants to play so he’s trying his best to get results out of a bad bunch.

Think we won’t find out until 6 months times and after a few signings of his choice.
