Exactly, he's full of self-confidence but I doubt he was naive to think that (1) he could have this current set of players pushing for CL next season or (2) that we could afford to get him any player he wants to challenge for CL next season.
If the board and Brands continually let him down over a few windows then yes, I reckon he defo would walk but really this is his first proper window after assessing the squad and there is a lot of financial uncertainty in football atm.
I'm yearning for fresh new faces as much as anyone but people need to chill. We will sign at least 2/3 players, we just might have to push it closer to the deadline than we like.

I think this season is about building a solid base and getting up into the top half of the PL. Once we have the immediate priority areas sorted (CM and RB probably) I think we can start looking at adding some class in other areas of the pitch. A top GK, CB and striker required if we really want to kick on.

I’m almost treating their departures as a foregone conclusion. We have next to no chance of breaking into the top 4 next season and there are the likes of Spurs, Wolves and Arsenal ahead of us in the queue for the Europa league. It’s not impossible we could get top 7 but pretty unlikely without some quality signings through the door sharpish.

Noticeable improvement in the region of 10/20 points in the league and a trophy (or really close cup run) would be signs that we're on the up.
