Martinez spent one Lucas Digne on Oumar Niasse and Tarashaj. Let that sink your boat.

Then Brands bought Iwobi. How much was that again? Niasse for all the fun, is an embarrassment. I'd take his endeavor over Iwobi anyday. Either way, it's a mute point. Digne is a decent player with a vast potential.

We don't need potential. We need players who are fit for purpose. Players who can do it now. This idea that we are some untapped club, waiting to become the next Champions, belongs in FiFa. We are were we deserve to be.

We're piss poor and if you don't get players in who are ready to compete, mentally and the talent to back it up, that's where we'll stay. To suggest otherwise is fantasy.

Hahahahahahahahahaha.

Suggesting that we have all these fine players at the club is the biggest laugh of all. Again. Look at the table. It's not a manager issue. It's a waste of money issue. It's a case of turning a silk purse from a pigs ear issue. It's simply delusional.

Will these players come good. Actually, I think some of them will. We have a manager who has a history of that. Turning haphazard recruitment into a cohesive unit will be Ancelotti's greatest task.

That's the task he faces. To presume he's taking over a set of players who are ready to compete, let alone succeed. That's a joke. We simply wouldn't be in this position if that was the case. We have a squad of mis-fits and outcasts.

Doesn’t saying you think some of them will come good because of the new manager completely negate your point in paragraph 1?

Literally the only unqualified success of the Brands drunken sailor spending spree.

The hallmark of this Brands era though is the lack lof coherence. He's paid massive amounts to assemble a team that can barely be blended. It took the 45 years of experience of Ancelotti and his mastery of formations and tactics to set us up in such a way that we were able to dominate Burnley for 90 minutes at home. He literally had to throw in a box full of tricks to get the result.

You realise we’ve got a lot of injuries in midfield, right?

...I also remember who bought a cart load of injured and unfit players....AND I remember who sold our midfield linchpin last summer which kicked this whole mess off.

You’re basically making it out Brands signed only 10 left wingers in the summer and that’s why we had to plug the gaps on Boxing Day. We’re missing 3 central midfielders currently and an atracking/wide mid.

None of the players he signed were injured when they came - hence they started the season. I don’t think you can blame Brands for a snapped ankle and a torn hamstring. Whilst you may point out JPG injury record he's only missed 2 games previously with a hamstring problem and neither you nor I even know if it’s the same hamstring.
