2020/21 Carlo Ancelotti

He’s not the best we’re getting right now, though. He isn’t performing to some unattainable level that another manager could not achieve and I’m not even talking about elite level managers.
Who would you go for, right now, that would guarantee an improvement?

You think loads of managers would jump at the chance to manage a club that's sacked Ancelotti for taking them from 12th up to top 8?

I can accept it's not all on him - in fact, a load of it isn't on him. But, I don't accept he isn't at least partly at fault.

The club could help him by actually bringing in a proper no2 instead of his son which always seemed like nepotism to me, Big Dunc who we still dont know what he brings to the table other than pAsHuN and get rid of Brands and appoint a DOF worth their salt in recruiting top drawer players.

As I said before this season is the honeymoon period in many ways (similiar to Silva's first season of tRaNsItIoN) next season particularly with fans back in the ground I think will be make or break for Carlo particularly if we spend a decent bit of coin in the summer.

I hope it works out for him but post Moyes I feel like our only hope of success will be stumbling on some no nonsense manager who buys into dogs of war and moulds a squad who'll run through brick walls.

So let’s give him time to create his identity here as he’s said he wants to.

Aftet the dross we’ve seen, we’d be mad not to.

I don't think he has an identity though - I'm basing this on his teams over the years.

That's not to say he can't create one, I'm just not expecting it.

I don't think our players being able to keep hold of the ball for more than 10 seconds should count as an 'identity', though. Do you?

I can - and do - blame the players. But it's mad that we're so useless and seeing off pressure mate.

I’d love us to go for Brendan Rodgers or Nagelsman. Offer them the wage Carlo is on and show them the plans the club have and the budget they could be working with.

They’re both at clubs going through a purple patch right now but it isn’t sustainable for either of them.

Davide is very well thought of. He's been the main driver behind our set-piece defending for example.

Ultimately Carlo will make the decisions. His subs today didn't help us, whether forced or not.

Ancelotti has came here, a nice cushy job knowing the fans will just be star struck by him and that he doesn’t really have to do anything because expectation is so low.

He’s getting paid one of the world’s highest wages and regardless of how he performs, he knows his reputation will stay intact because of past success.

This is just a nice little pension for him.

We need someone to build the club in their image. Not someone who’s seen it all and is just happy to ride it out. The man is 62.
I have to agree with this.

Leipzig have finished in the CL places every season since they came up to the Bundesliga.

Leicester have been out of the top 4 for one week in the last two years, and have had more success in the past five years than Everton have had in 25.

I'd argue their projects are just as 'sustainable' as ours. And you'd be screaming for their heads after a few bad results anyway.

I'm a fan posting my opinion on a fan forum.

I think most of us would agree we shouldn't be going 5-4-1 at home to Palace, with Gylfi right wing, Godfey right wing-back, Keane man-marking Zaha, and a player just coming back from 18 months out playing in the middle.

We were wasteful up top and that's on the forwards. But it's those same forwards who have one of the best chance conversion rates in the league - as we usually create so few of them.

I don't see how we can't do simple things or are so reliant on one player, who is 29 and can't be relied on to stay fit, to control our play and when he goes off, literally the entire team has to change to be camp on the edge of our own box?

His subs were crap and helped hand Palace the initiative.

The Godfrey sub turned out to be a very bad one. But it was only a bad sub because Godfrey played badly. He is capable of playing a lot better and doesn't usually switch off like he did.

There was no reason for the player to struggle so badly. Yes maybe the manager will now have learned not to use the player on the right of defence but equally the player should be asking why they played so poorly and more importantly, how can they improve next week. Players can't just hide behind their boss. They control their own destiny once they step on the pitch.

What is the Bielsa way? Does it include being given a football lesson by a league 2 side of part timers in the FA Cup?

I was using it as an example of how the idea that managers always need loads of time to get teams playing a certain way is a bit ludicrous, mate.

If we were going to see an 'identity' from Ancelotti's Everton, we'd have it by now. We haven't, and I don't think we will. That's not to say we can't be successful under Carlo, I just don't think he's that type of coach.

But, as I said to Groucho, to me, players being able to string basic moves together shouldn't count as an 'identity'.

What subs would you have made.
Coleman was id imagine gassed after 3 games for Ireland. James rarely plays 90 mins .
One sub was enforced early doors.
We missed 3 one on ones and maybe 3 more half chances .

Leicester and Leipzig will never be bigger clubs than Everton. Never.

They’d also never lay down £500m+ on a new stadium.

Everton are one of the true huge clubs in the English game that just need the right manager.

A washed up Ancelotti isn’t that man.

He did play badly but he was thrown in to play at right wing-back, next to Keane who was all over the shop, and came cold into the game up against Zaha who was playing extremely well.

So yes, he played badly, but the manager should have known that probably wasn't the most sensible thing to do?

You’re a multi.

I bet you comment to your main account as well, you whopper.
You would suck the life out of every room you walk into. Not even grounding yourself never mind upward looking.

Our club is recovering from 20 years of managed decline. We now have a proven manager in charge, serious investment and a guaranteed new bespoke stadium on the horizon.

Just shut the feck up.
