2020/21 Carlo Ancelotti

I was banned from RAWK many years ago for saying that Rafael Benitez had a few good years but was past his best. And he won the Kopites a European trophy in his second season with them.

It looks and feels similar here when it comes to criticism around CA. How dare one of us not rate him? He’s the best manager we could ever get apparently.

The simple fact is that he hasn’t achieved anything with Everton and our style of football looks dated, drab and dire.

We need to give him another season for sure - but let’s not get all cultist over a manager. I support Everton not Carlo Ancelotti.
Link? Sounds amusing

Spot on, mate.

He’s surviving severe criticism based on his previous performances as a manager.

He has been elite level but everyone eventually starts to decline and that is what we’re seeing with Ancelotti here.

I do understand peoples frustration but tbh it's been awkward for lot's of teams this season with injuries and fitness and we just don't have the squad to accommodate for them. We will finish where we finish but i would strongly suggest waiting to see what happens in the summer before calling out Carlo just yet. Sure if by this time next season after another summer we are still serving up turgid football week in week out then sure i could understand and agree with it, but folk need to just calm down a bit at the moment. We simply have too many average standard players, not good, not bad just bang average.

Exactly. Look at Spurs fans with Mourinho. They know he's well past his best and want him gone.

Ancelotti is the same. The game has changed. What exactly is our style of play? Can anyone explain it? We don't press. We don't control the game. We don't have a recognised system. It's not like we hired Carlo last week.

Managers like Potter and Bielsa have given their teams a style, an identity. Do they earn as much as Carlo? I don't think so.

The problem is if we keep Brands we wont progress as for every 3 players he signs only one ends up any good!

He's no better than Steve Walsh yet he gets a pass as he has nice hair and an armani suit whereas Walsh was a bald arl arse.

The game has changed? from what? too what, exactly that a man who has been involved in it all the time hasn't noticed. It hasn't changed, what has changed is players earning too much money and have no hunger too win trophies.
Rubbish.

Hes surviving severe criticism because we are only four points off fourth place with a game in hand, you absolute lunatic.

The home form is shocking, but we ain't the only team suffering in this nutty season.

Biggest issue I have with Carlo - he's still rating & trusting sigfraud with the captain's armband - biggest coward in the squad.

Both Carlo and Brands need time to get shut of the dross that were riddled with.

With one of doucoure, Allan or James out we are are a very poor team.

Take two of those three out and were even worse, so why do some of you expect different results, when Carlo has to use the frauds and sloths that have consistently been found wanting!

Agreed on this, at full strength we're a decent team, but lose 1 or 2 key players, and we start to struggle for quality...
For me next season has always been the season when this will be properly Ancelotti's team, and we can look at challenging...

We need another very good summer window...a Keeper, a right back, a wide right and wide left attacker, and a striker.
5 good signings.... 3 good to go straight into the first 11, 2 good enough to give us options off the bench or come in when injuries kick in.

I agree also on Sigs....but we've been lacking proper leadership for awhile...we had 3 'captain's' on the pitch last night, and neither Coleman, Sigs or Digne were able to manage the free kick situation with Richie, and we've regularly lacked leadership in games at Goodison this season.
I'd love to see Carlo sign a player in the summer who can also take the armband for next season.

Banned from RAWK and here? Quite the achievement.

7th under Koeman
8th under Allardyce
8th under Silva
The points totals were pretty low except for the Koeman season.

Also an argument that getting Top 8 has become harder and that therefore the points totals required to get Top 8 will get beyond low 50's. City, United, Leicester, Chelsea, Spurs, Liverpool, Arsenal would all expect to have Top 4 or Top 6 ambitions. Throw in ourselves, Villa, West Ham, Wolves and you've got 9-10 teams who realistically think they are Top 8 contenders and therefore challenging for a European spot. If you look at previous seasons (last 6), 56 points is the highest total for a team finishing in 8th. Average for 8th position is low 50's. It's going to be a bit more than that this season.

Whether it's 5th or 10th in the final league table, the points total will be improved. So will the fact that the season still has something riding on it coming into the final 10 games. That's the difference with other seasons. We are competitive and giving a chance for a positions higher than 7th or 8th. Previously we've limped to 7th or 8th.

I think West Ham, and who their manager is, is wrecking few people's heads. Let's see how WHU finish though. They've got a few tough games coming up and could easily be 4th or close to 8th come mid to late April.
