In other words, you can't name anybody. Thanks for admitting that.
He's named Rodgers, Nagelsmann or types that play progressive attacking football

Or Dyche, perhaps that was just that Dyche would match Ancelotti's production this season and not an active shout for him.

I may have missed some, but those are the ones that I've seen.

Happy to help move the debate along.

We’ve finished in the Top 7 9 times in the past 16 seasons.

It’s unlikely we’ll be finishing there under Ancelotti this season, which was the objectivllll
Ancelotti a long term project?

He managed 9 clubs before Everton and only stayed at one of them more than two years.

Let’s not forget that he’s also going to be 62. Not ideal long term project age, is it?

How long did he stay at a side that was near the relegation zone and needed a squad overhaul? Cos that's what usually consistitutes a long term project....

I'm pretty sure that unless you can name a better fit of a manager who would do a better job and has proven ability to deliver a trophy then Ancellotti is quite a good catch.

Isolated results don't make any of those managers looks any better. They were all rightfully sacked.

I suppose the one thing I take is that we've won a league game by a margin of 2 goals five times in Ancelotti's 49 league games. Pretty poor really, we always seem to be clinging on at the end no matter who we're playing. We need to be more positive rather than sitting back after going ahead.

hello buddies the site owner does have important point. we can disagree polite and not chase away new members by accusations of previous ban. i feel a little bad. maybe we the crazies??

I can name more games if you want they were just a few examples to jog your memory

They meant nothing though. They weren’t indicators of improved football or an recognisable Everton style, I can barely remember us playing in any particular pattern since Martinez’s first season. All those managers were fired soon after for having us in relegation trouble (or for being Sam Allardyce). All they were where isolated games that meant nothing that we managed to run up a score. It’s like if we lose the next 4, end up in tenth with the season over and then spanking someone 4-0. It counts for nothing. Give me a team competing for Europe over one that has thrown the season completely and then punts someone at home.

I don’t hate Ancelotti, I just don’t think he is taking us anywhere we haven’t already been with lesser managers.

He is getting away with a lot of his cock-ups because of who he is.
That's probably because he's proven that over his long successful career as a manager - that despite losing finals against Liverpool with a 3 goal lead he is pragmatic enough to accept mistakes and learn from them ..... He evolves and takes his calm management style to other clubs and delivers. I know he isn't perfect. .... Sadly I've not found a manager who is .... But the other managers who are close to perfection rate him as one of their role models.

Some of the best players in the world rate him as the best coach they have played under......

I understand that in its current state our team need him to turn into a peak Roy Keane and start physically threatening the players - that would possibly quench your desire for the retribution On the weak willed players who don't deserve the shirt or indeed should have been bought in the first place.

I'm not gonna lie.... I'd love him to throw players under the bus, to make some of them train with the under 18s but he has a bit more about him than your typical Moyes/Allardyce merry go round manager. And it also typifies the reason why us fans should never think of ourselves as managers.

Because every managers who’s had success elsewhere means it’s a given they’ll succeed at their current club.

What an odd way to look at it.

Of course not, but Ancelloti inherited an awful team, completely disjointed, on the decline.

He stabilised it and now he has us fighting (I'm not sure you know, but the season is still running) for European football and with a realistic chance of CL football.

Yes, we might not get there and yes, we've had plenty of chances to be well clear of the teams around us, but that is an obvious sign of improvement.

As is the calibre of players we are linked with and the profile of the players willing to come and play for us.

dont understand where this inhered an awful team comes from

we finished 7th under Koeman, 8th under Allardyce, 8th under Silva and 12th under Ancelotti

when ancelotti took over we had just beaten chelsea 3-1 and drawn at old trafford 1-1 , we also almost made it to a semi final of a cup competition but got knocked out on pens by Leicester

we were 15th in the table and finished 12th an improvement of 3 places

he practically had the same players at his disposal that beat man utd 4-0

on paper the squad we had was a very good one
