Results are the be all and end all. I’d agree with you if we were three games in but we’re 32 games in. If he was going to be found out he’d have been found out which means he is doing something right. That something is us getting the lead in games and not giving it up very often.

If we’d had a few less injuries we’d probably be in the top 4 now. There’s just no way you fluke that. Yesterday and West Brom away are probably the only games this season where I’ve felt we got more points than we deserved. There’s multiple games though (Palace Spurs West Ham Newcastle (a) Burnley) where I felt we deserved more, even if that was just a draw.

We were crap against West Ham and Newcastle. So I'll give you three games where we maybe should have gotten more out of it. Even that Leicester game we didn't create anything and scored despite it. 1-1 was fine there.

Now let's do the list of games we won where we weren't that good: both Arsenal games, Chelsea home, Leicester away, Saints home, WBA as you said, Wolves too. It's a massive list.

With every situation it's possible to take a jaundiced or a positive view. Generally, your take on things Everton is pretty negative.

That's fine but need you repeat the same stuff in various guises quite so often? There must be some nook or cranny at the club you haven't had a go at yet.
 
Outwith the first few games the football hasnt been the best to watch, but we've yet to be blown away in a game.
City, Chelsea, Newcastle, Fulham, Saints (maybe couple more i cant remember off top of the head) have beat us by 2 goals.
Carlo has tightened us up even though we've a suspect keeper and RB is a massive priority.
He's trashed the stigma that we cant compete against the better teams and with a few new players brought in this summer he'll have more variety to deal with the 'lesser' sides that have been our downfall.
A lot of clubs wont have the financial power to really build this summer, for some theyll need to sell to try and balance the books.
Next season we'll be firing, whether that means id rather we dont have midweek Europa to concentrate domestically im still not 100% sure at this stage.
But Carlo will see the opportunity we have to progress and Mosh will hopefully be throwing his Amex centurion around like a drunk all summer!

The positive view is we might get into Europe despite being a bang average at best side. That is genuinely great if we do it.

The West Ham game and Newcastle away were the most blatant 0-0s if you were to ever call one. We had almost all the ball at Newcastle and then they get a penalty because someone ran into Gomes in the last minute. The West Ham game the same, had 0-0 all over it until a freak deflected shot in the last minute.

Some of the games in your list we apparently shouldn’t have won, the opposition had none or one shot on target, or no shots on target after we scored. Can’t just say we were crap and hope it sticks. Leicester away ffs was one of the easiest wins we had all season.

Newcastle were up 2-0 until we scored a consolation goal with 90 seconds left. We got beat.

Fine, we should have drawn West Ham 0-0.

Leicester away we sat back because Schmeichel made a huge error. Otherwise that goes different. Take that one off if you want, it doesn't change the point much.

So Chelsea hitting the post means we defended well? Or Wolves or Arsenal at home? Because none of those are shots on target.
