2020/21 Carlo Ancelotti

If the idea of a big club mentality is to fire a 3 time champions league winner after 1 and a half seasons, for a team who haven't won anything is 30+ years cos he can't get a tune out of Iwobi's of this world....then I don't want that mentality.

It's like City firing Pep after his first season. It's daft.

Also, isn't his worst win percentage our best in the league? Funny that

I`ve not said fire him, but we need to put pressure in him to achieve, it feels like he is being allowed to drift and falling in to the same trap as others...

Siggurdson is out of any Carlo lineup when he has enough players fit. He didn’t start the season. If Allan Docuoure James are all fit Siggurdson isn’t in the first 11.

Delph hasn’t started a game under Carlo since Newcastle away and that was due to injury to others. At the start of the season he was nowhere near the team. He still didn’t start yesterday.

Gomes and Davies get rotated info about of whoever is less crap at the time. I don’t think Carlo is sold on any of them. There’s simply no one else though.
they will listen when the Italian Allardyce and his shower of crap signings are getting booed off by the end of September next season, btw did anyone see Allan getting schooled by Ross Barkley last night?

I think a lot of people including myself expected a quick turn around because of Ancelotti’s record. But he has never worked with such a dis-jointed poorly assembled team. We seen some decent results when he had his first 11 playing each week but that first 11 is miles off Ancelotti’s first 11 just the best of that he has available. He has inherited Iwobi on a big fee and wage, Gomes after injury who looks terrible most weeks and his 3 main signings have all suffered through injuries plus Richarlison has been dreadful. Our record to the big teams has improved but against the smaller teams we just don’t have the players or mentality to break them down & most losses have come due to Personal errors and there has been a lot. Ancelotti can’t be blamed for that.

For me next season is the one to Judge. Need a big transfer window.

He’s not helping himself by choosing to play some of these players consistently though. There was absolutely no reason for Holgate and Gomes to play ahead of Mina and Davies yesterday. There was no reason to bring Delph back into the fold, a man who’s been actively avoiding playing for us for the last 6 months. And Richarlison should be dropped for King next week. He needs to start standing up to these pathetic gobshites.

I would have made those changes yes. Although don't agree on Richarlison at all - he just needs to sort his own form out.

The manager wanted to back players who won last week and that's how I like it. But the players let him down badly. Godfrey was poor and Holgate was abysmal. If anything, he should have been ruthless and took him off at half time, but that's not his style.

We need them to be ruthless during the summer but I doubt we'll see anything of the sort.

Delph last start was Burnley before Christmas. He broke down after about 20 mins...

It was still ages ago, I don’t know how anyone can claim Carlo wants to shoehorn him into any team.

That said, Delph is still probably better than Davies Gomes or Siggurdson in a deeper midfield role so really all it does is shows the absolute paucity of options available to Carlo when Allan and Docuoure aren’t fit.

Now do we blame Carlo for this, the man who bought in Allan and Docuoure? Do we blame Brands? The person who has bought Allan Docuoure Gbamin (career defining injury) Gomes (career defining injury)? Or do we blame the administrations that bought: Siggurdson Schneiderlin Cleverley Besic Klaasen Rooney.

The midfield wouldn’t be an issue now if Allan Docuoure could stay fit most of the season and Gbamin and Gomes didn’t receive career defining injuries. Delph would be 5th cho CL e and Siggurdson and Davies wouldn’t play. The two injuries though to Silva’s big buys straight after selling Gueye absolutely screwed the club though and continues to do so.

No one represents our fanbase as a whole - your opinion is as valid as mine or anyone elses.

Ultimately the only opinions that matter are the owners however what I will say is ours is a very reactionary one and if the fans start to turn at Goodison if this form/performances continue into next season then Carlo will be under pressure/scrutiny make no mistake.

People forget Moshiri's main reason for appointing Carlo was as follows:

“I think Everton is a very, very difficult job in football because you are two home losses from being disowned by fans. I think it’s very hard, so what we’ve noticed is that it’s difficult to cope for younger managers. You have the bad runs, but I think the fans didn’t give them any time.

“The strength of Goodison is the passion of the fans and once you lose that, you lose a lot."
The manager isn't going anywhere mate. Cope harder.

Every year after Martinez first season, a bad spell and want the manager sacked.

Klopp had 4 seasons to win something, in his first they celebrate a draw against West Brom. OGS at United was in the verve of being sacked after a 4-0 defeat at Goodison 2 years ago and now he is one game away from winning the Europa League.

Every time we call for patience and time but this means nothing.

Exactly, based on last season Moyes would have been sacked and Chris Wilder would have been our manager. How did that one work out...

Sorry if already posted but just seen we've got the lowest PPG this season at home than in out entire history.

He's not earning his money for me, only so many times you can blame the players.

Every single team that have come to goodison so far this season have played us off the park except WBA ( had 10 men ) Brighton, and spurs/palace last week.

Want to see what he does next season with a few more players and the fans behind the team but I'll be honest, if next season is like this season performance wise, I don't think he should stay after that, we are so boring and predictable.

Im all for giving him time but do we honestly think we will sign the players we all think he needs? He loves Sigurdsson, plays Gomes whenever he's fit and has shoehorned Delph back into the side soon as he was fit.

Im honestly just bored of watching us - turned off at Half Time same as I did against Arsenal and dont think I bothered watching the Brighton 0-0 at all.

Its just absolute dross at the moment - im not having that we can go from playing how we did at the seasons start to how we have been when the only players missing from that side yesterday in terms of the midfield/attack were Doucoure and James.

The tactics/system have changed and its horrendous watching. I know its a results business but the problem for Carlo is when fans are back the turgid football is only accepted when we are getting the wins - its games like yesterday where he'll be hammered.

Really is no hiding places or excuses next season. He's been here 18 months now we need to start seeing something.

Im still astonished Brands who's been here 3 yrs overseeing a poor recruitment policy and nothing coming from the academy was rewarded for an average job.

There is zero expectation at the club and you see it on the pitch every week with those dross performances.
He clearly sees that Siggy has quality and has described him as having football intelligence. Which is probably right. Siggys problem is that he rouses himself whenever he fancies it. Super in two games this season against spurs, but I suspect he'd got a point to prove. But who else does Carlo play?

Gomes is weird. Not his worst game last night, but not exactly brilliant. But Carlo's current available centre mid alternatives are Tommy Davies and Delph. One of whom replaced Gomes last night. Given how Davies is viewed by a good many on here, there's not much scope for him is there?

Two missing players. Out of the 4 first team players signed in his reign.

Frustrating, I know, but let's just wait and see. If we've brought another 4/5 first team players (and everyone is available) for next season and the same is happening, then there's a problem.
