2020/21 Carlo Ancelotti

Yet far less experienced managers are coaching and motivating worse, less experienced players and setting them up in such a way that they are functional and able to get results.

Everton were very poor tonight yes but every Sheffield player showed hunger, worked hard, pressed and played some nice one touch passing movements too.

I cannot see much hunger from players in blue.
We have had results this season. Against big teams, we've performed well.

We have been incredibly inconsistent though and poor against teams where we need to hold possession and break them down.

We shouldn't need players, supposedly of the calibre of ours, to be 'managed' to beat a team like Sheffield Utd.

Oh I agree mate we need Ancelotti as well as the here and now need him to build for the future. I think with the like of James and Allan he's looked at their experience in the game hoping it would push this squad of players on, what he hasn't realised is that those 2 are on a different level to the cack we've got.

My only faith was we would let Brands contract expire this summer and we went out and appointed someone with knowledge of whats required to succeed in the Premier League as I feel Brands signs too many players who would do well on the continent but not here in terms of physicality/pace.

My worry with Carlo is more his style of management - as I've said previously he's a very good manager but I dont think his style suits a club like us who haven't 11 world class players on the pitch who are self motivated week in week out.

We need imo a Sgt Major type who drills everything into them like Moyes used to do who literally ran the club and sadly is what Klopp has been doing at the RS since he arrived, Biesla another at Leeds who has a lot of control.

Maybe he can adjust his management style but I doubt he will when realistically he could walk away and get another job tomorrow like Mourinho.

Sheff U were the typical side who have no pressure.

Relegated teams are the worst opponents.

Are they? They should be the best teams because 1) they are absolutely terrible 2) they have nothing to play for.

I think we genuinely lose to every team in England's top 2 divisions the way we played today.

I think we will see a very different team next season.

No mate
The club is fantastic in everything it does off the pitch.
Now if we could only get them cowards to do the same on the pitch.
You are entirely correct mate. The club , off the pitch is everything we could wish for. If only the football side was as good.

just one I swear

We all live in a Pish Submarine, a Pish Submarine, a Pish Submarine..

And our frandles are all abourd...

I just don't see why he ripped up what happened in the West Ham game when we looked okay in midfield.

Play Davies, Doucoure and Allan and have that base to build from.

I get why he played 3-5-2 today, but it literally didn't work from the first minute. So change it, be proactive.
Agree totally. Carlo got that wrong, and that was on him. Davies should have played.

Sadly I feel Carlo Ancelotti is coming across as motivationally and tactically inept lately. If these type of performances carry on into next season I can see him gone by the end of the year; we can't get by on just winning away.
Hopefully, he can make a few decent additional signings (and offload some of our deadwood) in the summer. I still want to see him given more time, but how much longer is Farhad Moshiri willing to throw millions after millions down the drain only to end up pretty much where we've always been.

I dont think Carlo will go either he'll get next season minimum you feel but Im not having Biesla wouldnt come here - people said the same over Koeman + Ancelotti money ultimately talks.

I think the pressure will be on the club next season though we simply have to get better but I dont think we will - we look clueless.
If you think Bielsa is motivated by money then you’ve got him all wrong. The man lives in a flat above a corner shop and only wears tracksuits. If you think throwing 11.5 million at him will turn him. Then he’d never come
Bit of perspective on that needed.
Bielsa june 2018.
Carlo December 2019

, to stamp his mark, with Carlo accessing the squad during the jan 2020 window. Amount of pre seasons at each club.

And how much rebuild did bielsa need at Leeds in the first place? ( a genuine question, because Carlos is a big rebuild needed)

Leeds were 13th in the championship when he arrived. As for the number of transfer windows to build his squad. His first season consisted of 3 players from the team that finished 13th the season before. But bamford missed 6 months due to 2 knee injuries. The other 2 were Jack Harrison and Barry Douglas who’s already left.

2nd season
sold Pontus janson and sold Kemar Roofe loaned Ben white- went back to Brighton
loaned Eddie nketiah who went back to arsenal in January.
loaned Costa
Loaned messlier, who was back up keeper last season,
both were made permanent last summer on promotion

this season-
Rodrigo- injured half the season
Llorente- injured until February
Koch- injured in December & was out for 3 months
Raphinha- played consistently.

so Bielsa has taken a team of “championship plodders” to quote someone earlier to within 3 points of Everton, with 1 signing consistently playing from September to February & all 4 signings been on the pitch together for approx 1 hour this season. Leeds fans are thinking if only they’d been fit all season where could we be.

Bielsa took a couple of goes to get the highest budgeted side out of the championship, he’a not won much in his career, he’ll probably finish below our terrible team this season, and there’s some very worrying losses in there. It’s not as though we’re hiring a sure thing like 04 Mourinho. Bielsa is a maverick who could go either way.
that’s not true we had the 7th highest budget in the league

all this matters not though, as from the outside I know it’s hard to understand but the man is a socialist is totally honourable if he feels he’s been let down or promises have been broken he will have no worries about walking away as he did with lazio, but if he’s happy he wouldnt walk out on Leeds, he has complete control and Leeds meet his needs if he wants alterations to the training ground it’s done if he wants light switches moved by millimetres it’s done. He buys into the city the history and restoring clubs, which if you’d have approached him before Leeds I’m sure he’d have been all over it but he’s in it with Leeds now and he won’t walk away from it.
