So… hang on let me just clarify… you want to not only lose our manager, but also want to bin off our best players for little more than market value?
I don't actually want Ancelotti to leave. But if he's gone, and it looks like he is, we might as well just go full reboot and build a new team from scratch. The squad needs an overhaul, and there's no point in getting a big name, because it apparently carries no extra weight with our fans. If so many can't get behind Carlo Ancelotti, who do we get?

The level of delusion is off the charts and the only cure is to brutally manage expectations and go back to basics. If we can't challenge, then run the club as a business the way other clubs do.

People go on about Carlo's desire to be at family clubs, etc., but if you read his book one of the passages that jumps out at you is when he reneges on his agreement to go back to Parma when Milan come calling at the last moment.

He's built a good brand for himself has old Carlo, but he's as canny a businessman as the rest of them.

Everton needs to forget the emotion in what we do and start becoming utter pragmatists. Managers who succeed with us will be poached. Managers who fail will be sacked. The fellas who "need time" are merely biding it in the hope of eventually being successful enough to poach.

I wouldn't even say a lot. But yes.

He basically made progress from Silva to his first game. And then from his first game to his second to last (let's ignore getting smacked by City) we were the same team. I genuinely think if you watched Burnley on boxing day and the Wolves game back to back you'd think they were a week apart.

But we picked up a lot more points in that time than the team before, so we must have made progress?

Been winding me arl fella up on whatsapp all afternoon been telling him Gerrard wants the job and Brands is pushing to hire him poor sods spitting feathers lol

Duncan Ferguson would be a poor choice. He manages on passion, not ability. That can work for a few games, but over a full season is not sustainable.
Its depends on what he has to offer managerial wise. Its unknown.

I believe intensity and passion can be sustainable over years. Kloppy, pep, Diego etc spend every minute of every day when awake in a state of passion and intensity . And have done for years. Not matches years. So have their players. Granted these managers obiviously have many other qualities but if I had a couple of characteristic for an everton manager to choose from it would be passion and intensity

It's exactly what this club needs. Duncan has them but it would take a couple years to see if he had the other qualities needed to progress us. A club in our situation might not have the patience
