CA like every other manager will get things wrong now and then.
I think he may still be tinkering with different formations and tactics to see what works and what doesn't.
I am sure he learns more from every game than the rest of us combined.

I have only one tiny observation that he might consider. .. that Gomes,Sigurdsson and JR should not all start together in the one team.
The lack of pace is just too much for the others to make up.
This feels like a lesson that should have been obvious, especially against a pretty athletic Fulham side.

have faith in this man
A few points off the champions league places with 2 games in hand in February! Never been in such a good position to go for champions league since 2005. Carlo freaking Ancelotti is in charge for his first season so its not like a freak accident we are this well positioned.

And yet there's calls to trust Carlo on this very February and its not an unwarranted call as there's a ridiculous number of people questioning him.

We are insane.

I'm buzzing about our position and having Carlo. His first half season after a decade of no hope. And look where we are.

If we had beat the lower placed teams we would be top of the league.

You're right and a bit of perspective is helpful. I'm still of the view that come May, we'll be happy with the season.

Suspect the Derby has a few of us on edge, me included. A good win on Sunday would have been a great start but instead its got a few of us twitching.

3 points on Saturday would put all this to bed!

For anyone questioning Carlo I will just try to put it into some kind of perspective.

At this stage for probably the last 5 seasons at least we have all been saying how our season is over and we need to build towards a good summer window in the hope of things being different next year. In Carlo’s first full season, we have a cup challenge still going and an outside chance at top four but at worst a fair chance at top 6.

Carlo is going to make mistakes of course but I think some of his mistakes are borne out of the fact that he has to hope the squad of players can come into the first 11 and do an adequate job and he soon realises that’s not the case with this Everton squad at the minute.

Some of the players we think are okay in the past have become the new group of deadwood.

It isn't the derby that has got me on edge, it's the abject failure to get results against the lower placed teams and not learning from previous mistakes. It is perfectly reasonable to question the manager's input in these circumstances, I am not one for blind faith.

And then some. Keys to the city for every player at this point.

There is nothing wrong with saying it go it wrong in this game, and a few others, as he obviously did but people are acting like he is the only manager ever to get a tactic wrong and to lose a game against 'lower opposition'.

If teams only beat the 'lower' teams that they should beat, we'll probably come around 7th which is the low position people who think that are moaning about lol

Ancelotti is not a tactical genius. His gift is getting good players to play well for him. Currently we don't have enough good players. He has given great self-belief to DCL and to an extent Tom Davies. He's brought in Allan, Doucoure, Rodriguez and Godfrey, who all make our best 11. I have no doubt that he will bring in another 2 or 3 players in the next window who will improve us again, and next season we will be looking at challenging for the cups and finishing in the top 8. The season after that 2 or 3 more who will improve us, and then hopefully challenging for the top 4, depending on how the established Champions League teams are doing. This is a big job, he said so himself. He is ready for a long haul for what may be his toughest job. The question is whether we can show the patience to support him.

I must be reading different comments then, but this isn't a one-off- it is a recurring theme. I am not calling for anyone's head, I don't think it does any good changing managers regularly, but CA has to bear responsibility. I read one post that summed it up nicely by saying we can't just defer to his past CV. I am concerned about Everton, not Carlo's magnificent past.
