2020/21 Carlo Ancelotti

Call a spade a spade, tactically and mentally we’ve been poor the last two games, we showed a bit more from an attacking sense tonight than on Sunday but it’s not good enough

Davies should not have come off tonight, him going off led to City getting a bit more freedom which got them the 2nd and 3rd goals. He has to go for it on Saturday, even with a half fit Allan and DCL, we need that extra bite in the midfield

wasnt Davies on for their 2nd goal? He was attempting to stop the ball, digne was ball watching, lost the runner, forcing Davies to react but not quick enough.

Of the 3 game run Fulham / City / Liverpool, I'd have expected an approach where we played our best players and went out fired up against Fulham; rested key players against City (who are on another level than any club); and bring out the rested players to get at Liverpool.

He's got this run of games just about as arse about face as you could get.

We stood a decent chance of getting 4 / 6 points out of nine; now we'll end up with zero.

It might mean something to Carlo to pit his wits against Guardiola, but it meant f.a. to me.

He surely knows he's got this sequence of games completely wrong.

sorry faddy, if you are going to flounce around looking for us to sack Carlo Ancelotti half way through his first full season people are going to laugh at you and respond

it’s just a general problem with football fans. No patience. I mean, lots say we need to be patient....but then some bad times come and they reach for the new manager switch

your insults just really confirm the character I’d have expected from your posts this season :)

I was actually waiting for a "middle finger" which is what you seem to enjoy dishing out to every poster that opposes the "God" Ancellotti.

Fat Sam could have set this team up the exact same way as Ancellotti does, Silva had 70% of the same squad and was sacked midway in his 2nd season.

No manager in modern football is afforded 2 years just to "figure it out" and after that there is no guarantee he would have figured anything out. Koeman's days are numbered in a similar way as he has inherited a good team and now gives excuses why the whole team is rubbish.

Carlo was brought in as a "winning mentality" manager who will stabilize the club and use his experience to improve the ability of these players on whom we had spent fortunes on. If he expecting Everton to sign a whole lot of Bayen and Real Madrid rejects and turn them into a dynamic, winning team he is mistaken.

If he sets our team up and instills tactics to attack in games such as Fulham, West Ham, Newcastle etc and we end up losing a couple of games I won't have a problem. The mindset of this football club just reeks "loser mentality". He just tinkers way too much which doesn't allow for any team chemistry whatsoever. If he is gonna use the same pathetic excuses of Sam and Silva then he can expect the same criticism as well. If this garbage was dished out by Sam or Silva, everyone would be fuming. Most of these players are not Everton caliber but they were brought on high fee and high wages because their past "potential". Do I believe they have the potential to not look so mentally lost? Yes, its amazing what a bit of positivity and belief does to your team.

So yes, pardon me if I expect the great Carlo to be capable of not being out thought by Scott Parker, Steve Bruce and David Moyes at home in successive games.

Carlo and Brands Out.

I was 2 months old when we last won something, and I watch a hell of a lot of good teams play football. I do actually know that teams should have more than one way of attacking.

I know it's a process, but it's been 14 months. And i still can't tell you what our plan C is as a path to goal. It was there early in the season, but has been missing since October, and I'm not someone who thinks we've played awfully in that run either, we've had good games.

I say plan C, because our plan B is set-plays. Yet, we have won four corners across our last five league matches, and conceded about 35 in that same run. So we're not even getting up the pitch enough to win regular corners.

We have conceded corners in the first two minutes of each one of our last five games too.
I've said it many times
Our 1st choice 11 gives anyone a game including them tonight.
That doesnt mean we will beat everyone btw , but as you rightly said early season shows what we have.
Its when we have injuries/ suspensions that pull us back. Look at City's bench , they beat most if not all other teams.
Even after some sorry results we are still 7th with a game in hand plus in the last 8 of the FA cup.
Hopefully these really costly injuries clear up for the run in.
If we get the same calibre of players as last summer in we will be challenging of that I've no doubt.

10, don’t include the keeper.

Imagine actually comparing Ancelotti to two of the worst managers in recent times

With Europe pretty much a pipe dream now and the cup having a major hill to climb I'd like to see him move away from trying to scrape and claw for every point and instead try to develop the team a bit.

Nobody expected anything other than a loss tonight but the games that we should be winning are going to come back to haunt us unless Carlo can turn things around very quickly. We forfeited 6 points against Newcastle and Fulham which was completely down to a lack of desire, effort as well as poor management and them 2 games alone would have had us sat in 4th now just 3 points behind 3rd and 2nd and with a game in hand and a loss against City wouldn't matter. As it stands we aren't even as good as West Ham which personally i find infuriating considering who their manager is and that it is completely down to a lack of interest and effort.

Get their heads and attitudes sorted as fast as possible Carlo or this season will end up yet another season of disappointment, frustration and nothingness. Lets make sure we win the games that we should win.

It's less about who he brought on, and more about who he left on.

When you're behind to City and need a bit of impetus, the last thing you want is James and Siggurdson on the same pitch. Any semblance of pressing or breaking with pace goes completely out of the window.
Davies was spent, Doucoure was hanging on in there because he had too.
Iwobi hadn't touched the ball in the second half.

Yes, there was an element of rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic, but there wasn't much else he could have done with that bench that would have made any difference. If he'd have taken Iceland off he'd have only had to put someone else on, Bernard? Gomes? The engine of the team had burnt itself out, neither of those two were going to make a difference.

Just a question though mate out of curiosity.
You can’t surely be happy with the football we see witnessing?
it’s absolutely dire.
Do you think they are getting the best out of the players available?
My other question is does anyone think we are making progress and can expect to be significantly better next season?

i don’t think it’s a process of 14 months. He was working with rubbish that was playing rubbish before he came. The season ground to a halt and to be honest I don’t know that anybody was even arsed what was being done after the season started again. He has had this season with some of his approved changes as far as I’m concerned and we are just over half way into that and statistically on course for 61pts I believe even if I think we will fall short of that. In some moments, games and patches of the season we look improved and a different team to what we have been watching the last few years. However, of zero surprise to me, we are still crap in some games.
