Of the 3 game run Fulham / City / Liverpool, I'd have expected an approach where we played our best players and went out fired up against Fulham; rested key players against City (who are on another level than any club); and bring out the rested players to get at Liverpool.

He's got this run of games just about as arse about face as you could get.

We stood a decent chance of getting 4 / 6 points out of nine; now we'll end up with zero.

It might mean something to Carlo to pit his wits against Guardiola, but it meant f.a. to me.

He surely knows he's got this sequence of games completely wrong.

I said weeks ago, rest todays game. We are not good enough to take any games for granted with a weakened squad.

Got ourselves in a horrible mess really.

i don’t think it’s a process of 14 months. He was working with rubbish that was playing rubbish before he came. The season ground to a halt and to be honest I don’t know that anybody was even arsed what was being done after the season started again. He has had this season with some of his approved changes as far as I’m concerned and we are just over half way into that and statistically on course for 61pts I believe even if I think we will fall short of that. In some moments, games and patches of the season we look improved and a different team to what we have been watching the last few years. However, of zero surprise to me, we are still crap in some games.
I don't think we've looked improved since the first derby. Honestly where are we making progress? The last few weeks look like project restart all over again.

Bleurgh. It’s a bit crap, we’re in a slump, he’s in a bit of a slump, nothing we can do really. Let’s just hope he can get us out of it and qualify for Europe this season. To be honest if he can’t fix it I’m not sure who can.

It’s a tough job when you see how paper thin and unbalanced the squad is. Particularly for some of the formations he seems to want to play.

We rely so much on DCL, James and Ritchie for goals and assists - soon as one of them is out the drop off is massive.

We’ve got a ton of central midfielders but not really got any left or right midfielders and we play 4411 a lot.

We’ve got 4 really competitive centre backs but one left back and one right back.

We get a few injuries to the likes of Allan, James, DCL, Digne and we’re struggling.

Carlo seems to be going very defensively in the majority of games to try to deal with these issues, sometimes leaves you feeling “what if?” after games. Overall though it’s just going to take slow evolution and player turnover until he gets players he wants so patience unfortunately.

We just can’t keep the ball. First game I’ve seen in ages, and I was shocked at our ability to build possession. I’m not joking that we must have got pressed back to pickers who subsequently hoofed it up the pitch and turned it over at least 20 times. When we did get up the pitch, we looked dangerous, we just never have the ball!

Need to see Allan back, hopefully we’ll have a platform of some description at that point, but that midfield has to be upgraded in the summer.

With Europe pretty much a pipe dream now and the cup having a major hill to climb I'd like to see him move away from trying to scrape and claw for every point and instead try to develop the team a bit.

Why is Europe a pipe dream?

We are sat in the European spots, with a game in hand. So far in our 2nd round of games, we have faced harder fixtures than our opponents. We dont have European football to weigh us down.

Not only in Europe not a pipe dream, we remain on course for Europe. The league may be a pipe dream, but European qualification is not.

Looking through the results this season and I can honestly say we’re so so lucky to be where we are now, lucky win against wolves and Sheffield United, lucky point at home to Leicester, Man U, lucky 3 points first time out against Fulham probably a few more even lucky against Rotherham. Tonight was always going to be hard but in general we’re playing poor football, it’s not good to watch (apart from Leeds and spurs games) , we prioritise on defending and sitting deep, we create maybe 3 proper chances at the very most per game. This season will be wrote off shortly in my eyes and the main focus will be getting new players in for Carlo’s make or break season next year

We haven’t actually played well for a full game since the first 7 games of the season.

Agree we should have played strongest team against Fulham, but a weakened team against this City side could easily put 6 or 7 against us.

I guess you're right we still have a strong chance at making it into the Euro Conference or whatever that crap is for finishing 7th.

But I think we're playing poorly and won't.

Carlo said we will be different for the Derby
Don’t think so mate. Defend and hope fore the best is what it will be. They will win comfortably. Hope I’m wrong like
We are shocking to watch though and
These players are cowards simple as that
