You can make a strong argument that he's underachieved in the table with a lot of strong sides over the years.
He's very good at getting teams up for big games. He seems to be less good at prepping teams for a week-in, week-out grind. If I had to guess from what I've seen, I suspect that he tends to prefer quality over quantity and ends up flogging players into the ground.
If we get him enough guys that he can rest players on form, tactics and fatigue, I think we'll see better results and fewer injuries.

I know what you're saying mate but, we were beaten by a Sheff Utd side at home who were relegated ages ago, who were getting bummed left, right and centre and had lost 15 times away from home this season before playing us, surely it should be them who are burned out and devoid of any confidence? At the end of the day we were still fighting for a European place and that should have been a massive motivation.

Personally I don't think you can blame Ancelotti for the mess we're in, he has been largely failed by he way we've been run since 2016, none of us actually know whose choosing the players to sign. In the past Moyes and Martinez made the decisions, so you knew who was to blame for bad signings.
I don't which moron thought it would be a great idea to sign Sigurdsson, and Klassen, to go along with Rooney and then fail to replace Lukaku and sign players like Sandro and Vlasic as well. We've just largely signed dross since 2016 and that's why we're in this mess.
We could of signed Dzeko and Dembele in 2017, they would of at least go us at least 20 goals a season. We need a new right back, a quality central defender and a new striker if we want any chance of doing anything. Also it's going to be harder to attract quality players, when you're not in Europe. Frankly I could tolerate us being rubbish in the past, however when you spend the amount we have and you have a manager like Ancelotti, you don't expect to be in the same position as we were under Allardyce in 2018.
