Way back in 1958 when I was courting her indoors, I had a three month spell when I was working away Monday to Friday, only home at week-ends. There was a very attractive girl in the office I was working in and one day I plucked up courage to ask her out. She said yes and I agreed to meet her outside the local cinema that evening. Shower, shave, best after-shave. Box of chocolates and I was there. Problem is, she never turned up. I waited for over half-an-hour but nothing.
I took the chocolates home with me and gave them to her indoors the following week-end. Still feel embarrassed every time I think about it!
