Thought as much - different metrics.

Closing down defenders. Dragging defenders from their position and allowing space for others to attack. Allowing Everton to play a higher line. No one ever questions Niasse's work ethics. On another day Niasse would've bagged an hattrick.

Work ethic should come as read.

He was absolute garbage against Leicester, no matter how hard he worked, and there is no chance he was getting a hattrick there in a million years.

Also, our defensive line was deep, he didn't allow us to play a higher line at all.

Well that's your opinion which I don't share. We've had more shots on target while Niasse was playing in his last two games. Please remind me how many shots on target we've had without him in the month of January? We actually bossed parts of the Leicester game.

Niasse remains a starter until the likes of DCL and Tosun discover their scoring streak.

This isn't good news at all. It would be more understandable pre-Walcott, but with him on fire already he is going to create chances and we need someone to finsh them.

Cenk Tosun looks like he is going to need time to adjust in English premiership....

We need to be patient & wait for him to flourish, it may take a while before we can reap the benefits of this Turkish striker....

Agree with what you're saying mate, only problem is we can't afford to give him time, we needed someone who could come in and do a job from the off.

Would have been ideal if he could of hit the ground running, however Sa leaving him out against Leicester spoke volumes for me....

Just hope he does live up to his signing on fee when he's ready for first team action...

Will be interesting mate to see if the reason he wasn't involved against Leicester was because Fat Sam was saving him for tomorrow.

I reckon Niasse won't start tomorrow, so if Lewin gets the nod ahead of Tosun, you would have to wonder if there are any issues with Tosun.

Hope his shooting is more accurate than his spitting...

Wouldn`t it have been great, if he got shown wiping it on the back of Allardyces jacket lol

So i agree with you to a certain extent, but you used Giroud as an example, he went for 18million and could walk into nearly every team in the league.

We have paid 27 million for a guy who cant replace NIASSE.

People are not annoyed with Tosun, but the fact we have bought a striker who wont be given the game time to develop and adapt. the position we are in, we need someone who can come in and do a job asap, relegation is still an issue and there are many strikers that could come in and help us. Tosun may be that striker, give him an actual chance, like we haven't done with sandro, klassen, lookman, vlasic etc after a few games.

We need a striker bad! Sam said he would be judged on his first signings, therefore people cant moan when after 2 games that signing is being benched for one of the worse strikers in the league.

Fans have a right to say wtf is going on here.
One of the worst strikers in the league? Jesus, what are you on? Did you watch James Beattie play 38 games for us without scoring in open play?

Injury prevention yes, why risk your best defender.

Have you not seen his stats, from his first two games they were the best on the pitch by a mile.

What about the game where he got utterly ripped to pieces v West brom? Or the game where he assisted Swansea's winner? Stats can always be fiddled.
