He’s been poor this season but I’m always confident when he’s 1v1.

Think that's a bit unfair. He had a couple of poor games, but equally I think he's had some very good ones and a lot of the time the work he gets through seems to go unnoticed - his movement is good, he's decent at linking play and our wide players seem to benefit from his presence. Particularly Richarlison.

He's not a top 6 level striker, but I do like him a lot.

Options is a good thing isn't it mate. Didn't work for Richarlison today. Worked away though. Didn't work for Bernard today. Worked away though. Lookman DCL and Tosun come on, works today. Next home game Bernard has 2 assists, Richarlison scores 2 and Lookman plays and is MOTM. Really important I think just at this moment in time for Silva to say to Richarlison, yeah your my main man for the next 3/4 games up top because we can interchange all other positions. He's young, learning, Tosun has come on last 3 games as a sub and bagged 2 goals and I don't mind a lucky sub like that I can tell you mate ;)

I think a lot depends on the manager and his ability to integrate his squad. Silva seems to have got the balance right for most games of when to pick players and when to drop them.

You also want lots of options and lots of different types of players to change the game. It's why I like Lookman and DCL. Undoubtedly lots of weaknesses for both, but also areas of great strength.

As for Cenk, for me he looks a striker who will score in fits and bursts. When he's got he will be hard to keep out of the team. He's the sort of lad who can score 2-3 goals in a game easily. I like how hard he works too, it's not natural to him, but it's indicative of a lad who really wants to be here and make it here.

thats what i was saying, to get a top 6 level striker you need to pay a lot, more than richarlison money

At the moment I would start with him upfront as I think Richarlison offers more if a threat from the wing. Ultimately either in the January window or the summer I would like us to buy someone else and he can be the option off the bench. I don't think he'll ever quite be prolific enough to be the main striker but would definitely an ideal substitute/rotation.

Really think it boils down to how we want to play.

Against sides where we're going to have a lot of the ball/have to break a team sitting deep down, then I'd probably start with Tosun, based on the Palace evidence.

Against sides where we can play to our strengths on the counter, that front four of Richarlison, Bernard, Gylfi and Walcott is pretty excellent on paper.

I think quite the opposite. Cenk is lost between crowded defences, he is just not the guy to hold the ball, turn his face to goal and open defences a little bit with his movement. On the contrary though, whenever he gets a chance inside the box, be it on the counter attack or the defence is just loose a little bit, he is a real threat. Think about his last goal, pure counter attack, 1 vs 1 with the keeper and clean shot despite the pressure from the defender.

Another example is his assist to Walcott against Bournemouth, pure counter attack play. He is not the fastest guy around maybe but he can be more effective by starting counter attacks and serving the ball to Walcott and Richarlison running deep.
