2018/19 Cenk Tosun

Has to be one of the players out the door in Janaury.

Someone like Palace will offer us £12-15 million and we would be fools not to take it. Get another £6-7 million for Niasse and thats £20-25 million in the pot to go towards a new centre forward.

We don't play a centre forward in this system though.

that's because we don't have a good enough one so richarlison got moved
I don’t think that is an accurate assessment to be honest.
It’s worth remembering that the Brazilian national side see him as a CF as well as Silva,
I think those who are hoping for us to sign a more traditional CF are going to be disappointed ,in fact I think it’s probable we will continue the season with our existing options.
Silva ,in common with many managers these days ,seems to prefer a more mobile forward line utilising players who are as comfortable playing wide as well as centrally and Richarlison and Calvert-Lewin fit this role perfectly.
If we have to resort to the more traditional ‘Big Man Up Front’ role we already have Tosun.

I don't agree, we are playing with 3 attackers. Loads of clubs do it these days. Bar Sturridge (who is basically their Tosun right now) do the rs play a striker? Do Manchester City?

I think the days of a traditional striker are coming to an end somewhat, at least for now.

What we need to do is take advantage of chances when they come our way. Bernard has had two easy chances lately, as has Walcott, having a striker in the middle would not alter that.

yes, they have aguero ( and jesus as back up)

united have lukaku

spurs have kane

arsenal have laczaette/that aubamayang

and Chelsea have morata

only Liverpool really have the front 3 without and out and out striker, but they're nob heads so

Aguero and Jesus are not out and out strikers!

Kane I agree with, he seems to be an anomaly these days, proper old school striker but he does have good all round play.

Lacazette and Aubamayang play as forwards rather than proper strikers.

Morata is pretty meh and they still really on the likes of Hazard for goals.

Lukaku is strugglin, probably because he is another who's all round game is not quite good enough. He will generally get goals but does he bring others into play?

Messi, Ronaldo, both not traditional strikers either.

All I am saying is having a proper striker does not solve the issue of our other players messing up in good positions. Its not like our centre forward (Richarlison or whoever) is missing chance after chance and the team is geared up to providing that player.

come on mate, aguero is an out and out striker and always has been, everyone on that list is

messi isn't no, but suarez is

and Ronaldo again maybe not hes moved more centrally as he's gotten older ( he had benzema at Madrid who is though ) and manduzic at juventus

Nah Suarez isnt, he can moves out wide and makes space for others. He is an attacker same as Aguero.

Agree on Mandzukic and Benzema, Lewandowski could fit in that category too but they are getting rarer these days.

Regardless our problems are not down to the central striker converting chances. We could sign the best striker around, he wont stop Walcott or Bernard missing absolute sitters of make Coleman put a better cross in for example.

I'm not objecting to getting one by the way, better players are always nice, I just don't think its the problem that others think it is.

I dont think he's good enough...try and get £15mil for him and £15mil for Niasse + Walcott and Schneiderlin for another £30mil and we'd free up alot of wages and £60mil.

I think if we're all honest in our comparisons then of the front 3, only Richarlison cuts the mustard. Lookman is improving as a young player and Bernard is getting back to fitness and adapting but we really currently only have 1 major forward thread in the front 3.
