Weird how dcl gets the nod ahead of him. If tosun was crap at holding the ball up, didn't work hard etc I'd understand, but he's none of that. Let's be straight compare his finish v Palace vs dcl at arsenal. If we got in that position today and dcl fluffed it again, that's two points dropped.
It's pretty obvious why he brought on DCL. I'm surprised people are shocked.
We needed legs on the counter. Someone who could chase hard into the channels. Tosun is a snail. He would have been a terrible option at that stage of the game.

He didn't do much but he was completely the right sub. Tosun wouldn't even have got on the end of the punts. He's completely the wrong striker for us away from home. He doesn't suit our style at all. And he's not very good either.
I'd rather we had a proper centre forward option but we don't. We have one who is a half decent finisher but far too slow for this level. And the other has top end pace to frighten defenders but is a dreadful finisher. That's why richarlison has been playing there. We need pace and quality.

Really irritated me that, could have cost us the point that the others had worked hard for. Offers absolutely nothing unless someone puts the ball on his head from point blank range.
He probably didn’t get the nod purely due to his pathetic performance against Gor Mahia.

i've never really seen dcl as pacey tbh. His 'speed' is irrelevant when he ponders too much on the ball. I like him, but think tosun is always the better option.
I'm not trying to suggest he has a bad attitude because he seems to be a genuine bloke and well liked in the squad, but his last 2 starts (Southampton and Gor Mahia) were an opportunity for him to bust a gut to show he should be getting more game time, and he really hasn't done it. In both games he's looked downright disinterested in all honesty, and can't have done himself any favours.
I said early on after signing him that he looked a bit limited but I hoped he'd bloom as he got more games and we became more attacking. I just don't think he has. He can finish, but he just doesn't do enough all round for me, or for Silva by the look of it.
