2018/19 Cenk Tosun

Niasse got less than an hour game time for us this season. You speak as if he has played every game for us and hasn’t scored. He hasn’t offered anything cause he hasn’t played.

And before you say it’s cause he is clearly crap so the manager won’t pick him, Koeman thought that as well and then he scored a load last season.

We need a better striker than both of them but at least give them their due, they both scored goals last season.
That’s the point, surely? He doesn’t need replacing because he’s only played for an hour all season.

On loan? Oh hell no...needs to go for good. We can't keep on loaning players out while their value decreases and they end back here. Knock down price back to Turkey please.
It's the Brands way.

FFS, if Tosun becomes the 19th player to go out on loan in 7 months then surely the penny has to drop with those still singing Brands' praises.

But Walcott has played that role and has proven capable of doing it.
Martina at left back is not a reasonable comparison.

I don't think he has been proven capable

Nor has Richarlison for that matter if we're getting down to brass tacks

The past few weeks have made me think that Richarlison isn't the answer up front and should go back to the wing if I'm being honest

That would leave us with just DCL as our lone proper striker if Tosun left

If Tosun leaves and we replace him then fine, but if he goes and we don't then it's a mistake IMO

We can't afford to sell him for a low fee. His book value will still be massive and the loss will hurt us from spending in the summer under FFP.

It's extremely frustrating we can't sell the dross on permanent deals. There's really no excuse with players who have been here 2, 3 or more years. But players who've been here less than that are a major problem. Taking hits on them makes our summer spending very difficult. We already took a major hit on Klassen.

Loans can be an option for players with long contracts. We get their wages off the books temporarily, and their book value is depreciated (reduced) over time. We can then eventually sell them cheap and not take as big a hit.

It is an utter mess as we speak though. And we have a major problem when about 20 loan players turn up again for pre season.
