It looks to me, like he " dovetails " very nicely with the front players around him and there`s the start of a real understanding between them.

The big difference this season, is the we aren`t reliant on one player ( Tosun ) to score all the goals.

If he`s holding play up and using the ball intelligently, which in turn leads to other scoring, I`d say he`s doing fine by me.

Who would you rather have, someone like Danny Ings !!!!

Your seem to be forgetting that this season is all about rebuilding and sorting out the Koeman / Walsh mess out.

He`s the least of our worries.

I know it is. But how does having a striker who's not good enough fit into that scenario?

I think his style of play is ideally suited to our home games when teams come to defend. Get players up around him and he'll both create and score.

Playing away from home where we won't expect to have quite as much of the ball, Silva may decide to go with somebody a bit pacier who prefers to play on the shoulder and able to run the channels. I reckon Richarlison can do this and also DCL (though I realise you wouldn't have him near the starting XI).

We are starting to build a decent squad of players when everyone is fit. They have different skill sets and once Silva get's to know them better I expect him to make the odd tactical change depending upon who and where we are playing.

I still expect Tosun to be our main striker this season and also for him to get well into double figures for both goals and assists.

Silva obviously doesn`t think so, otherwise I`m sure he`d have tasked Brands with bringing in another striker, even if was only on loan.

He really is the least of our worries, sorting out the defence is the priority at the moment.

As far as I see, Silva's tactic doesn't rely on central forward's scoring threat. Looks like Silva assigned him a supporting role as a CF, his priority is making gaps for the wingers and attacking midfielder.

He works harder than last year but he is not pushing as much as last year. More like swapping position with Richarlison and Walcott constantly, making off the ball runs as well. I think Silva is satisfied with him so far but eventually, he will be judged by the goals he scored. Maybe not by the Silva himself but the fans will be demanding it.

If he can work a little bit harder and improve his current performance by being a scoring threat as well, he'll be a perfect fit but I'm not sure if he'll be able to do it without pace. The pace is the only attribute he lacks but a vital one for the EPL.

He is a good guy, good personality, a good team-mate to have around tho.

I'm happy with the start this season, he'll get goals for us as the season goes on, he creates chances by his movement. It looks as of this moment that the team will share the goals around, and I'm fine with that.
I remember Frank Stapleton back in the day, (as you would !!), he wasn't a prolific striker for Man United but was a great forward for that team, Had to check it out on google, but he got 78 in 365 games, or one in four. Not even trying to put the two players in the same class, but it is an example of a successful forward who wasn't a prolific goal scorer.

..I think DCL would be of interest with Walcott and Richarlison. He has a chance of getting involved when either of those two get beyond the back four. He’s faster and has better running power than Tosun. He isn’t in the same bracket as far as finishing is concerned, but Tosun struggles to get on the end of things at the moment.

I hope I'm doing him a massive disservice, I really do. I'd be delighted to be vaulted on Tousn's abilities.

Decent all round forward but he needs service and our front line is more interchangeable now.
