We were not after a striker in the transfer window Dave. So the choice is irrelevant. A better one would be Mitrovic or a new LB, CH, and additions to midfield/wings.

Think we chose ok.

Why did it have to be either a striker or some other position though? We CLEARLY need a new forward. If Tosun was injured long term what happened then? DCL is no stand in.

The club should have bought another striker. Mitrovic would have been good for us.

Maybe you should give him a bit longer before writing him off?

Mitrovic done nothing in about three years for Newcastle in the premiership and has played well in two or three games this year for Fulham. Yes I would pick Tosun as well.

He'd have been ideal as a change in style for us in-game.

I defo see where you’re coming from with that shout but a) I think the two are quite similar in style so Mitrovic wouldn’t have fared any better thus far IMO; and b) he can be an absolute nut bag and a red card waiting to happen. Given our travails in that department already this season, I’ll say we’re better with Cenk!

He's been here a while.

I just see him and think: "No, not at the races anything like nearly enough".

I hope he proves me wrong. But I just dont see his quality.

Not good enough, sorry if that offends anyone. He is a striker/CF - why is he not scoring goals? Is he a grafter, yes, can he read the game, yes, is he committed, yes! Niasse is technically inferior, but scores goals. That is what we want/need. Play him instead in the cup game and see what happens.

Dean, Latchford, Sharp, Lineker, Lukaku - scored bucket loads. Tosun not fit to lace their boots.

He's a massive part of our attacking play. He may not have any goals for himself yet but he's helped create several for others. He, Theo, Richarlison and Gyilfi have worked very, very well together so far. He does not need replacing at all.

I think an upgrade is needed. The problem is that there really aren't a lot of top draw strikers that are readily available and willing to move to Everton.

This guy is not a concern for me at all, we have bigger problems in this team than him. If he had pace he would be borderline world class, and as a result, playing for a better side than us.

I've been encouraged by our start to the season but we still aren't cutting teams apart and making loads of chances. Hopefully once Gomes and more importantly Bernard come into the team along with Richarlison and Theo, we'll start to see Cenk getting a lot more chances.

We didnt CLEARLY need a new striker over the positions we ID'd in the window though. Priorities were else where. It looks like those gaps were sorted, though time will tell.

Is Tosun a worldie? No. Is he adequate? Just about.

Maybe January will see an upgrade, though I doubt that.

We were never in the market for a striker, not 5 months after buying 1 anyway.

Tosun will be given time.
