so ami and I still think your chatting

absolute myth they got singled out, remember barkley scored against burnley on one of his last home games and jumped into the crowd kissing the badge, he nearly got necked by the fans

as I say mumbles when he done something daft just because they know hes better than that

Or we just sit in different parts of the ground and go with different people. It happened, a lot, for years.

Go dig out the Barkley thread on here and have a read through. That mirrors some of it.

Stones was our best player. Citeh had us off with that price.
They were buying a work in progress. He is still a work in progress. I was, and still am, a big fan of Stones and think he will still improve and possibly become world class, which he isn't yet. I think some of our fans were hard on him at times, but if he put's in transfer requests that sort of thing is going to happen.

Fans may argue about how good he is or may become, but I think the one thing you can't argue about is that we got a good price for him. £50m for a 22 yo centre back was bloody good business and at the time equalled the world record for a defender.

Put those three in to our side now and we would be right up there.
Stones and Lukaku I would agree with. Barkley is nowhere near the player he was before he got injured. He seems so frightened to express himself whenever I see him play for Chelsea and looks a completely different player. He may get it back but, at the moment, I wouldn't have him near our starting XI.

The worst thing is, we received the best part of £150m for those 3 players and completely wasted it to the extent that Brands is almost having to build again from scratch.

Be good to get him out the door in January

Tim, he's been here six months.

We saw last season when he had the chances, he took them.

He's good on the ball, links the play well and can finish.

He's out of form in front of goal but you don't just keep punting players.

Niasse needs to be sold first, and we need a new striker in to form a partnership (or competition) with Cenk.

Sooooooooo, Cenk Tosun then? Pretty Jelavic int he.
We weren't in a bidding war with other clubs, because he's an average striker with the potential to score 10+ goals in the Prem, if he has a good season.Seems this year he's not meeting expectations. If we want someone in the 20 a year bracket we have to spend big,and I don't think we are going to do that.

That's not his fault, its the passers fault. If they can't judge the pace of the pass relative to Tosuns position, what chance has he got?

The point is that it is difficult to pick a pass for Tosun because he is relatively easy to mark. He hasn´t got the pace to get away from players and he doesn´t have the strength to bully defenders. He also doesn´t drop deep to become involved in the build up play because he is not a number 10 type striker.

He's an old fashioned target man. His mobility, or lack of, means he will never be a good enough option. I saw enough last January when he was being outpaced by Gareth Barry. I don't see the point in persisting with something that is never going to work.

Nevermind his massive lack of pace, his movement and overall efforts are bordering on disgraceful. Would love to see his sprint statistics in his last 3 appearances....

Only if he's replaced.

He's the one striker we have who can play with his back to goal. And we need that sort of player when we play against the lesser teams, especially at home. Yes he's out of sorts, or certainly was in the Huddersfield and West Ham games, but he has shown in other games that he links up well in our build up play. Yes he's not good enough if we want to start challenging the top teams, but there were other bigger concerns at the start of the season that needed addressing, and we were never going to sort all our problems out in one window. Unfortunately we haven't seen anything of Mina or Gomes yet or much of Bernard either. But hopefully these will be embedded into the team within a couple of months and will see our defence and midfield area's improve accordingly.

When we're away, especially against teams who will dominate possession, I wouldn't start with Tosun. I'd play either DCL, Richarlison or even Walcott up top. But until we sort out something better, Tosun has to start the home games against teams that come to park the bus. Hopefully his form will improve and a goal or two will remove the pressure to see him replaced immediately and we can look at doing this in the summer. However if he continues playing as he did against West ham especially, I wouldn't have a problem in replacing him as early as January.

I don't think our situation is quite as bad as many are making out. Yes we've had a relatively easy start to the season, but we've been unfortunate with some refereeing decisions, been punished for our defensive mistakes, and created more than enough chances to have taken full points from each game we've played. Others are just as guilty as Tosun in this regard. If we had a few more points on the board, as our overall play has deserved, then I donlt think Tosun would be getting the stick he is.
