Spouting?!

I was only voicing my opinion. I agree that we should try to play 442, but in my opinion, Tosun deserves every much a chance as Calvert-Lewin.

I was only joking about the under 23 bit, but now I’m not as I feel scorned.
Look any two upfront will do but playing your two fastest players imo would be the best idea also we have had Sharp and Gray Heath and Sharp -why just one player striker marooned?
the other lot play 3 upfront.......

Horses for courses as they say, you need options up front, examples being the ‘target man’, fox in the box, ‘running the channels’ all the different options depending on the opposition/system.
We’ve got examples of all but not quite at the right level in terms of quality . so we have to use those we have until better versions can be found and recruited.

Yeah I agree. I want us to play two up front as well.

I just think Tosun has a bit more experience and could act as a bit of a target man at the moment than Calvert-Lewin, and play in Kean the way he did last night. Positioning is as much as important as pace if we play like that.

What about in a 442 he can be there for a cutback cross? He's not that slow

...folk get hung up on formations. It’s about organisation, what you do in possession and what you do when the opposition has the ball. You don’t need to play 442 to have players alongside you’re striker.

Iwobi and Richarlison scored headers in central positions from open play last night and we didn’t play 442.

@Joey66

Please read and digest sir.

We were pressed up high against Villa for large portions of the game so there was no advantage in using pacey players on the counter. Maybe a player like Tosun who can sniff out space would be the better bet there. Having said that, he's played in games like that before and not thrived. But DCL may be best resting for a few games

Yes I will off @Eggs I was watching our triangular passing and wondered if Marco is sponsored by -

I prefer the high pressing game that's what they do over the park - with that you use your pacy players to get in the box to get attempts on goal....

Hey Eggs, want to pass that on to Marco?

...if we break with the pace we have out wide, Tosun will have a problem getting in the box when crosses come in. He’s ok, he’s very ordinary, he was scouted by Steve Walsh.
Yeah don't think he is the answer to be honest. He should be better than what he is, if he was a bit more clinical and mobile he'd be perfect.

I'd love us to sign a striker like that, Costa bing the best example , but younger and cheaper.

That makes a lot of sense given Marco's comments about the different 'profiles' of strikers. He mentioned that Cenk is more suited when pitted against a low defensive block.

Also I think the management team have made a decision to stick with developing potential rather than sticking with ordinary players, even if its detrimental in the short term.
