I will ask you a question, what did they offer you in order for you to adopt your "new and improved relationship"?
As I said, I instigated the meetings
How would that translate into me being offered something?

Is that what you think of this forum then?
Having a working relationship where issues can be discussed and worked through is how things are done properly.
As detailed above, nothing has changed since about 3 months ago when I realised that things no longer happened that caused problems. Staff at the club realise that we will continue to scrutinise their every move and decision, they also appreciate that it will be done without un-necessary name-calling and insults.
I'll ask your question in a different way too. Why would anyone NOT want a cordial relationship with staff at the club they support?
The apology is for personal insults that have been made on NSNO's forums and in the past through the editorial content.
Our moderation policy has changed over the past few months, and uncalled for personal insults aren't tolerated. This extends to people who visit the site but don't post.
The editorial policy remains the same, infact the moderation policy remains the same as it did yesterday, the day before, and even the months before. We've just detailed the meetings that have been going on, and made our statement public.
If we get told lies, we will point them out - but we will do it in a grown up and reasoned fashion.
NSNO instigated these meetings by the way, not the club.
To be honest, what it was, was pointing out that something that had caused an awful lot of hard feeling no longer happened.
People at the club had issues with personal insults eminating from our forum and our editorial content aimed at them. This hasn't happened for months now, through natural progression or people getting bored, or something. But whatever the reason, it stopped ages ago.
I pointed that out, asked for a way to put it behind us, and this was the upshot. Apologies swapped and accepted. Moving on.
During all the discussions with staff at the club, both parties repeated that constructive criticism is what forums are about. Both parties also agreed that it can be done without resorting to petty name-calling.
That's about it really.
Si, re GOT: I know the lads who run it are, in general, pro the club's line on things, but there's been no attempt to muzzle people from taking up an opposing viewpoint and having a real go at the club to the best of my knowledge. If the club have asked for criticism to be toned down I cant see where it's come in.
As for scrutinising the club's every move and calling them on it, best of luck with that and I hope it pans out. But making a grandstanding statement to the effect you're apologising (twice) for past 'misdemeanours' over the wording of criticism hardly inspires any confidence there's a will to carry it out.
"Cordial relationship" - am I missing something here? What does it matter either way if a fan website has that with a club? Why would you want to go out of your way to build that up? Supporters and the club bureaucrats who administrate the club are not obliged to have one for the morale of the organisation to remain intact. You're giving that way too much emphasis, imo. They are not the club, they are hired hands who shuffle paper about and sometimes infiltrate supporter forums to put their view in surreptitiously. Ring any bells?
Anonymous? Me? My name is quite clear.
You keep toeing that party line.
Chins up.
But back to the anonymous Mr Goat, if I instigated the meetings, how would that lead to Everton offering me something? Im not saying your lying, but your lying. Surely it would hint at it being the other way round, if anything? So what on earth did you offer them? A happy forum in which negative threads are removed?
Or maybe that just says more about you than anyone else, that you think the only way to get things done is through bribery?I cant think what other reason would make you bend over and take it like you are.
The locking of any thread on Kirkby springs to mind as a way of watering down discussion. Almost like moving it to a separate forum away from Everton discussion altogether.
Behave.
Anyway, you didn't receive absolutely anything or not promised anything? Not that your at liberty to discuss here but I would be surprised. To be fair, you deserve one or two goodies in return for the effort you put in - were do you find the time to update so much? Fair play on that.
Seems a long winded, pointlessly official statement to clarify your stance on petty name calling. Am sure a stickied thread would have sufficed - especially after already confirming your new stance in person with your new Everton buds?
As for why would we want to have a cordial relationship, it's because I support Everton, and to be honest, I don't really like the thought of staff at Everton having a dislike to me or the website that I run about the club. I would like what I do to be accepted. If not calling people names does that, then happy days.
He's got a point on that Kirkby thread mate. Open it, you neo nazi....and take away the infractions that I have to wear liker a Star of David.

When theres something significant mate i'll open it. Until then its just tedious - constantly going around in circles and I have to moderate it. I can't stomach any more of "Its out of Liverpool...." - "It doesn't matter"
