The locking of any thread on Kirkby springs to mind as a way of watering down discussion. Almost like moving it to a separate forum away from Everton discussion altogether.

Re: the thread topic, each to their own but some of the absolute sh*te posted about the club staff on the internet makes me cringe.

A lot of it is purely down to that individual being a deeply unhappy person themselves looking to vent anger, somewhere, anywhere.

We on the up and a large part of it is down to stability right from the top, the best Manager we've had in years wouldnt have hung around for so long otherwise.

You trust his judgement on players, trust his judgement on his boss.

What I'm bemused about is that it's an apology to the likes of Darren Grifffiths, Ian Ross and Mark Rowan. These people are about as central to the club's fortunes as the Chuckle Brothers are to the running of the BBC. Building "cordial relations" with these characters wouldn't be an obvious way forward to me. Not worth all the hassle of bending the knee I wouldn't have thought.

Just read the reaction on the NSNO forum. To say it's being taken as a humiliating climbdown is an understatement. Sorry Si, I know the line of 'being grown up' about the relationship is being spun, but that's not flying for me.

Is this a joke? Is it the equivalent of April Fools Day in Kazakhstan or something????

God, I am going to sound like a club stalwart, but for the life of me, I can't see why any forum should allow little boys and grown men behind the sanctity of their keyboards to abuse anyone.

Why should stating the obvious (you don't go round abusing people) be seen as a climbdown, especially as NSNO initilated the process. Simply seems astounding.

I'd also point out for those internet hardmen that a legal case, ironically on the sheffield Utd forum means that clubs can unmark individuals.

Or is everyone so anti the club we claim to support that building support seems like some traiterous move?

Just look how a badly moderated forum like kipper ends up. So far up its own arse its unreal.

Just to reiterate, there's a world of difference between criticising the club (I've done this over the old magastore where I would rather travel up to goodison rather than buy on the net), and personally abusing the person who was responsible for running the old megastore.

In all of this nonsense about selling out etc, this simple fact seems to be lost. Also, I can't believe that I am in support of Si's action. If the guy was here I'd say "fis' it bruv"

Even with Davek's distain for the current custodians (I am picking on you in a way Davek, sorry), I am sure he can see that attacking individuals of a club we all claim to support can never be positive.
