Champions League revamp

There's several points in here which to me read that if you're not a member of ECA you basically won't get access to UEFA competitions.

D.3 to ensure that none of its member clubs participate with any of its teams in any competition that is not organised or recognised by UEFA/FIFA;

D.4 to ensure that its member clubs are not members of any other association or grouping involving clubs from more than one country (i.e. one National Association);

I suspect those contracts are full of clauses. Certainly, any future contract would be hugely devalued by the absence of the teams currently placed 5th, 6th, 7th, and 9th. The greed and sense of entitlement is almost laughable at this point.
To some extent it is the PL's fault from building a brand around a few clubs when they didn't need to.

yeah agreed - then its taken out of his hands. But England and HArry Kane would have a case at CAS in days if this happens

I dont think he would, if cricket is anything to go by. They have resigned from ECA thing, so have invalidated their contracts. The position would be that they can break their contract and join another team.

Where it's interesting is if a national association still picked them. That's the bigger legal headache in my view

They punishments will be the bare minimum won't they. Knowing that UEFA may ban them from European competition, I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if the Premier League docks each team 15 points (City would still win the league) and fines them £20m each - which would be utter peanuts compared to what they will all get just for joining this new league.

A real punishment would be immediate expulsion from the Premier League with the FA following this up by taking away their licence to play in any league in England, plus a £200m fine and ban from all UEFA competitions.

Do the PL have jurisdiction here. These clubs aren’t threatening to pullout of the PL as a competition. Though I’d love to see the PL bin them all.

Seems to me on reflection, this is about creating a new CL that they don’t have to qualify for, with less teams and thus More money.

Essentially that’s what this is a closed shop CL with less teams and 11 clubs making more.

Worse then the current model.

Seems to me this is a game of chicken between them and Uefa, but I’d love if every authority that can nails them.

I do however have no trust in Uefa.
