Premier league have tv deals that clubs will be relying on this money. You can't just kick them out.

It’s particularly Kroenke from my experience.

It’s not really the aggravation of them being rich, just the fact you knew that’s what his plan was all along.

I think most of the US teams are small market teams and they’re often swamped by The big teams, but they’re just confirming their ring fencing.

I love how US Sports work, but leave it there, let us keep it how it is.

At least the NFL has a salary cap and equal revenue sharing. Stan and the Glaziers definitely the main drivers here.

The people that pay for the PL are the same ones who pay for the CL too which they pay £££ for. They wont be happy with these teams losing them money

I don't think they would have done this if they thought being kicked out was a realistic thing. They've got the PL and the rest of the clubs over a barrel and they know it

The money drop would be huge, it'd be good for the fans if our club survives but there's no guarantees of that, think of the contracts we have to pay. Our income would nosedive within months.

And it would prove the PL can't live without them - they'd insist on selling their own TV rights and FFP rules being made stricter, on threat of walking away. Competitiveness, as far as it currently goes anyway, is gone whichever happens. If they leave we're all financially screwed so that won't be happening

I agree with nearly all of this, but I think the super league will become a white elephant and that a new PL without the big six could compete with it in terms of entertainment. However if they are allowed to continue to participate in domestic competitions, then you are absolutely right. Meaningful competition will be gone forever!

If their working conditions have become intolerable, such as no longer being able to play for their national team, they could quit their contract and claim constructive dismissal, claiming their lost earnings for remainder of their contract. Thats the basic position. Quick disclaimer, I am a solicitor but employment law is not my area so there
will be loads of poss variables depending whats in their contracts.

Not so sure on that one- me too incidentally. I imagine the contract is play football for us and only us. Interesting if there's a relegation clause perhaps.

I think we should come out tomorrow Mike and confirm our stadium will now be 80k. We'll be the dominant force in this city make no mistake about that. Every kopite dad with his little kopite bunting and his little kopite flag and his piss stained little kopite scarf with his little plastic 2005 badge sewn on by his mum and his son says "well dad, I know we can't afford to go to Mexico for the 45th round of our Euro Worldo Spaceo league match against Real Tortilla...but Everton are playing Ajax in a CL semi final so I'd like to go to that you massive knobhead"....
