Was going to make that point. IF the PL still want these teams to be in the league, they will have to impose caps and deduct points from them as punishment.

End of the day, it won't matter to these clubs in a league they can't be relegated from. They could turn out the under 23s and get smashed each week but still make money.

In the domestic league they can be restricted to compensate from the disparity in revenue.

The idea that the PL can't kick these out because it'll hurt the competition too much is a crock of crap. No one gave two fs about Man City in 2006 and 15 years on they are the club in Europe. It can be done again. Same goes for Chelsea earlier and to an extent Spurs as well.

You take that authenticity away, the rivalries, the threat of relegation or battle for europe, cup games etc and what do you have?

I wouldn't put it past BT and Sky to also in some form of solidarity stick 2 fingers up to them and keep a decent albeit reduced TV deal going - people will still tune in to see proper atmospheres inside stadiums.
