Champions League revamp

This is it. It's the risk of the lack of regulation that's resulted in this. The game needs a reset, desperately. Top 4 and champions league is the holy grail for 99% of domestic clubs, these lot piss all over it. F em. Sling them out and restart. And let's remember city were irrelevant little over a decade ago, as were spurs, and chelsea/arsenal 20 years ago. Times change. They think they're bigger than English football let them go but they dont get to compete in English football competitions. See how that works out for them. To keep the game alive in the short term, redistribute the prize money and champions league money those clubs would have got back into the game.
Totally agree with this.

The idea of Everton, Villa, Leeds and Wolves fighting for the title has only appeared barmy in the last 25 years.

For most of English football history that would be perfectly reasonable and it will be again.

I see no reason why this season cant be completed.

If its null and voided that means a massive revenue hit.
Well that's part of why they're doing this now, they know most of the clubs can't take even more losses after COVID but to me if they can find some way to survive they should take the short term hit.

Fully expecting to wake up to “PL agrees LFC to get three penalties per half from now on.’

Whats interesting is if the domestic leagues accept a compromise - they are essentially screwing over UEFA who will lose big money on the big hitters leaving the CL/EL.

It may come down to loyalty to UEFA where the domestic leagues have to act and remove them.

The more you think about it how could it work if they remained? Say top 4 places all taken by 4 of the "big 6" none of them can qualify for the CL so how does that work? lol

I don't think they would join because they're 50% fan owned. The investors can't make decisions without the fans input.
Aren't Real and Barca ran by presidents who are supposed to act based on a mandate given by the fans? Doesn't sound like they had much say, but of course it sounds a bit more complicated in Germany.

Unanimous.

That’s actually a very good point.

The likes of City and Chelsea benefitted because of the Premier League. They were nothing before it.

Spurs have always been nothing. Huddersfield have more league titles.
