Champions League revamp

Even if you forget the moral objections to it, just can’t see how it will be in any way interesting.

CL could at times be a bit repetitive with he same matches each year, this is just tripling down on that.
I fall in and out of love with the CL, sometimes I barely watch it, sometimes I catch every game I can, but its not cos its boring, some seasons I just cba with footy other than Everton.

But imagine Real vs Juve, every 2 weeks, Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Group stage games are dead boring. The knockout ties are captivating, maybe even more so than the final, but the GHPL is nothing but group stage. I sleep.

Uefa need to scrap the group stages of the champions league and go back to straight knockouts like the old european cup,i think that will be alot more entertaining for neutrals now that all these teams have left.

I know its easy to say, but I 100% would never go to or watch any Everton game again if we were involved with this.

Honestly, that would be it for me, finito.

I know I said my love is unconditional, but yeah, I have conditions.

It wouldn't be Everton anymore at that point. Hypothetically, at that point I would want a fan run club to be founded that would start at the bottom of the pyramid ala 'Afc wimbledon' and that would be the new Everton. These days, I have just as much fun watching my local non league club with attendances of around 1,500 as I do at Goodison, so it wouldn't really matter to me. That would 100% be my preference.

The big worry I have with this whole thing, is that if hypothetically we were invited I'm not 100% sure we wouldn't be following the rest of the greedy lot. So as much as we have the moral high ground it's probably been forced on us, rather than out of choice.

If it was up to me, Liverpool (et al) would be relegated to the Conference TOMORROW with every derby in history retrospectively lost 3-0 to Everton.

New derby record:
Everton: 238
Draw: 0
Liverpool: 0

For: 714, Against: 0

A fitting punishment for MURDERING TRAITORS
Sounds like a fair compromise lol

Still don’t think this goes through. John Henry & co are so used to having their ball bags tongued by all and sundry and believing in their own true genius, they never will have faced backlash like this. Everyone hates it.

The European competitions do need a revamp, though this idea is just hideous and downright despicable.

For me the CL should be made up of eight teams, each the respective champion of their league. England, Spain, Italy, Germany, France, new Dutch/Belgian, Russian, final spot going to the EL winner. Each team gets 3 home, 3 away and one neutral game respectively. Then the top 4 play 2nd-legged semis against each other then a final. Only 10 games a season at the most, sorted.

Whilst your at it revamp the EL, rebrand it as the Uefa Cup again and have it be 64 teams as a straight knock out competition, two legs. That would mean 11 games a season at most. Scrap away goals.

The above means more competition, less games to cope with, a real feeling of having earnt your way into prestigious competitons. Scrap the four team group-stages, no one has ever enjoyed them.
