Champions League revamp

I'd be all for Rangers and Celtic joining the Premier League. But the whole Scottish football pyramid would need to be integrated in to the English football system, otherwise this would just be a domestic version of the European breakaway. It would destroy Scottish football (although it's a laughing stock anyway).

May be some kind of system where the Scottish champions are integrated in to the Championship playoffs so they have a real chance of getting to the Premier League. I don't know if it's even possible to link two separate football associations like that.

Yeah, I suppose it creates a problem for the teams left behind. you could move 4 of the SPL teams into the English Championship, if 4 of the championship teams are moving up to the premier league. That leaves the bottom 6 for the SPL. not sure if they would join the English football pyramid in some way or remain separate.

If the Premier League, UEFA and FIFA stick to their guns, then there is zero chance of this happening. As others have pointed out, professional football clubs can't exist on one game a week with no outlet for their academy or U-23 players. Any player, manager or coach involved would be blackballed from the rest of the football world. The football equivalent of North Korea. It would effectively be like two different sports, or different approaches to the same sport (laughably like WWF v WCW in the 90s).

The concept is wholly reliant on the breakaway clubs maintaining their domestic league status. At the end of the day, FIFA, UEFA and the big national associations are massively powerful and rich organisations. They'll be able to field world class lawyers to fend this off if it got to that stage.

It's all kicking off in the land of togger lol
