Champions League revamp

Not necessarily, it'd be a case of replacing one set of revenue with another. By bringing in the full scottish league as opposed to just the two clubs, it'd mean more money for all clubs involved, and the PL would remain one of the strongest around.

The big issue is if you get rid of the Greedy 6, Sky won't be paying as much money...
But there are options to replace that with other revenue streams, PPV is one option that's obvious.

Sorry mate but you would. You don't just walk away from being a supporter. You'd eventually come to terms with it and the first game against barcelona you'd be frothing at the mouth. We all would. I'm not meaning to have a pop at people here I'm just pointing out the reality.
We wouldnt actually. Its also pure conjecture on your part and arrogantly naive to insist that you know us better than we know ourselves. Why would we be arsed saying we would stop supporting us... if we wouldn't. A total non sequitur given our customary honesty.

Can the local authorities take away licenses to host games in the stadiums as punishment ?

meaning that these so called big 6 will not be able to play home games at their grounds with supporters ?

Manchester United's stockmarket value has risen by $250m today, on something the Nasdaq is terming the European Franchise League.

Every time these billionaires do something I strongly hate, like sack people in a pandemic, or refuse to give wage increases or whatever bloody awful inhumane thing they think of, their share prices go up. You would think I would just plonk my life savings on it at this stage. lol

Switch to a pay monthly streaming service...I'm sure that would easily match the current funds inc the greedy 6. There's a reason why Disney +/Amazon/Netflix are gaining such control over regular TV etc. Lots of people with a small cost is far more effective than a few people at a high cost.

If the greedy bar stewards don't get thrown out it's precisely because the other teams have agreed to carry playing against them.

They're going to make a decision, spirit, legitimacy of competition vs. the financial impact of the scab six leaving

I can probably put it better, long term gain v. short term loss
Remember, the President of UEFA has already said he wants them removed from European competitions. Given that UEFA has overarching control of individual national leagues by way of affiliation, if UEFA bangs them out, that's it - they are out of their own national leagues...

holy #$%^ the US gonna win the WC in 2026

Much of our best talent is wrapped up in this.

The Germans lose a little bit of depth. Everyone else loses a ton. The English, Spanish and Italians get gutted.

Vote to make the league 24 teams from next year and have the additional 4 teams vote them out too.

This is why there are supermajority provisions for expansion - to prevent precisely such an end-run.

You give Ashley, The dildo twins, the bellend at Fulham, Fellas at Wolves and other clubs far too much credit.

The list of owners that care about their fans over money is ZERO in this league, they will do whats best for their money.

No, I'm not saying they will all vote, hell they might surprise me, but there are 14 owners crapping their pants at the prospect of "going alone", trust me.

The teams dodging the relegation headsman seem like easy votes.

It's the remaining ten that are the question - we can weather the storm, and surely an indefinite FFP amnesty, at least in the affected countries, is part of UEFA's plans for a war footing.

And what negotiating power do the other 14 clubs have really in terms of eyeballs watching and prestige? I mean if the other 14 clubs held the power, the top 6 wouldn't be the ones walking away.

Little enough, which is what the remaining six are banking on. Specifically, that there are ratings provisions in the TV contracts that permit clawbacks if ratings are too low.

No idea, but I would imagine that this does not benefit them from a tax perspective.

I mean how do they stop Man City just outstanding everybody in that league once it gets going? Everybody getting 350 million and then they can spend what they like on top.

Going to be some decent competition that. Liverpool will find themselves with Arsenal and Spurs at the bottom of that league.

An Everton fan on TS saying it could be a good thing. His points are ok but just no there is no good outcome from this.

I really hope that it comes to pass, but reading and listening to reports in Spain there doesn't seem to be the same howl of fury that there is in England.

UEFA might feel they have to do a deal.
