Champions League revamp

Yes I read it that the FA has a final vote or something, or the league does, something weird like that.

I also think, in these situations, conventional rules go slightly out of the window, as they have broken the rules in terms of the exclusivity agreement on broadcasting, and also left the federated association (UEFA).

The issue is going to be, do the clubs have the bottle to kick them out. If they do, they will be out. Maybe not this season, but from next.

I mean if the tv money and sponsorship deals disappear there’s a very real possibility that we could go bust but sure we can ignore that and just look at the possible upsides.
Do you think Usmanov didnt know about the super league plans? All these owners are interested in is money and usmanov is one of the richest men in the world. It would be remarkable if he didn't know about it already and he wouldn't continue investing if worried.

Im kinda torn over all this. On one hand the snide part of me totally wants them to all be kicked out of premier league but the slightly more rational part of my brain thinks the Premier League and Everton would suffer from it due to huge drop in sponsorship/tv money/audience etc.

No one is going to take champions of England seriously when the 6 supposed biggest clubs in England don't even compete in said tournament

Everton would suffer far more never being able to compete financially and getting less money.

If this go through, then the fans of the big 6 should buy the season tickets but don't go the match. No fans in the ground will kill it. Lol

There is any easy way to solve it like... well easy-ish anyway.

Let them go and play in their super duper shiny league, let them stay in their domestic leagues, but don't let them spend a penny of what they earn from it on players.

I was going to say play a reserve team as they will do it anyway but they already do in a lot of games. De Bruyne never seems to start against us etc. Its pathetic really.

If they have zero reason to be it the PL, I would lob them out. They want their own precious Merican type franchise league? Fine. Go ahead.

Wont be missed within a few seasons anyrate.

I really hope the other PL clubs grow a pair tomorrow. Cos this is way more far reaching than few seasons of probably lower TV cash.

Is anyone going to take the Premier League seriously with a top 6 processional every year, and even if any team does break the stranglehold there's no reward? And no penalty for failure for any of those 'top 6' who fall away?
What's the point of it then?
Today there is still a pretty big incentive to finish 2nd , 3rd and 4th even for those 6 clubs.

With a guaranteed spot in the ESL once the league winner is sown up there would no drama at all bar the relegation fight - the chance of one of the rest of the 14 getting a ticket in, even for a season, seems slight.

Thing is. If they back track, nobody is gonna be bothered. It will continue as normal which really is annoying.
But being honest with myself, if they don't get punished, but they don't this smelly league. I'm still gonna watch and care about Everton and the league. Which is sad for me, but the truth nonetheless.

We will have safety nets. The new contracts for players will come into play. We will still get sponsors and a TV deal. We just pay 10k a week instead of 100k. We can do this, won't be easy and lots of bumps but the end result will be the best for us.

This isn’t being set up for the match going fans mate. The clubs couldn’t give a toss about them.

This is for the “global overseas fan base” that’s where the money is. They already know football can be played with no crowds. They’ll just pipe in the fan noise like they’re doing at the min and the telly clappers in the Far East will lap it up.
