Is anyone going to take the Premier League seriously with a top 6 processional every year, and even if any team does break the stranglehold there's no reward? And no penalty for failure for any of those 'top 6' who fall away?Im kinda torn over all this. On one hand the snide part of me totally wants them to all be kicked out of premier league but the slightly more rational part of my brain thinks the Premier League and Everton would suffer from it due to huge drop in sponsorship/tv money/audience etc.
No one is going to take champions of England seriously when the 6 supposed biggest clubs in England don't even compete in said tournament
Is that fair on the players though, what if they're against it, what a mess this is.
If you read the rest of my post then you would have seen that was exactly the point I was making. Not because there was no support there, but because of the financial implications of no income from games. It's a definite leveller.I think, at the root of it, is the Big 6 frightened of other teams breaking up their monopoly.
I noticed the bookies have it odds on that this won’t happen......Everton 14-1 to win the league next season.

95% not bad @COYBL25We won the last ever Derby game of this happens plus deduct all monies from the club's this season and take the trophies away from them out the six clubs in the bottom six on NIL points ........start as the prem needs to go on to deter other club's.....also let them police their home games ........in that super league as they are all best mates no trouble ever expected ......not......
If they come back start them in the provisional feeder leagues......

Be interesting to see what actually comes from this.
Agree, but the ramifications of this for the lower leagues is huge in terms of revenue. Sometimes, you have to fight fire with fire.
Well the overseas market is huge. Say what you like about the people behind this, but one thing they definitely aren't is stupid. They know full well there is a huge market for this proposal, they aren't just doing this on a whim. The price of UK rights has been going down while the price of overseas rights is going up. Those people want to see Liverpool, United, Arsenal, Chelsea etc. And obviously UK rights would take a big hit because 6 of the biggest supported clubs in the country would no longer be in the league. Fans of those clubs will be paying DAZN, they won't paying Sky to watch the PL when they aren't in it. It would be like me getting a Sky subscription to watch the Championship.
